That all looks pretty good to me except for the psu! Sure you could go with a 750watt, but you don't need it and a good 400-450 watt would do... Also the only difference with a modular psu is you'll have less cables hidden in your case There's also the question of what resolution screen you'll be playing your games on. The 5770 is a bit of a weird one. It gives about the same performance as a 4870 which can be got for...

^^ exactly, Corsair, Thermaltake, FSP etc. are great brands. Heres a load of info on what PSU's to avoid and what are good/or cheap decent ones - http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=287485 Again, no offence to the OP, i just mean in general as i see this a lot, but why do people in general think its ok to spend 800 or 900euro on a PC and 30 euro on a PSU? A lot of folk here will disagree with me, but each to their own, i get the...

Stuff that goes at 1066MHz with those CL5 timings go at 2.1V. A hike to 1.9V is about as much as I'd risk on non-certified designs (heatspreaders or no) but it can give you just that little bit of leverage... only way you can find out how low you can push the latencies is good ol' Trial And Error

Oh I know your predicament, in the rig im building at the moment an SSD was my first idea, but after looking around I decided on a normal 40 euro 500gb hd for now and wait till prices drop and what not before buying into the SSD market. From what I've gathered a cheap SSD is fairly pointless and the performance gains of moving to SSD can be very small to a good quality one. I too have heard ...

I cannot be entirely sure whether the Phenom's support a-symmetric channels in RAM configuration like the i7's do. If they don't, installing all 3 modules would have your system run in single channel mode (not good). Sell / swap 1 2GB module for 2x1GB modules, then you can run 3GB per channel, in dual channel mode.

It really depends. What are you doing with your PC or what do you plan to do e.g. overclocking, gaming, video editing etc If your not doing anything out of the ordinary then changing to any of kits you have listed may result in a slight performance boost as the timings are tighter. Doesnt seem worth the hassle to be honest

Budget? Any prerequisites for the system? (i.e. using Photoshop, must be a 1080p monitor, must be a gaming keyboard, needs to fit into x space, I really want y for SnG...) And yes, self-build is vastly superior to pre-built gaming rigs; you can tailor the build to your own whims specifications and it invariably ends up a helluva lot cheaper!

Rule #1: You can always build better for the same money. Running through it, it doesn't seem horribly overpriced. Personally, I'd get a better ATI graphics card for hi-res gaming. Any reviews of the "600 Watt Ultra X-Pro"?
