Depends on where in England you are to be honest. And depends on if you live in the city or closer to the country - as your walking area might be drier than others. Have you lived in England? Just you say the US and England seem to take better care than Ireland.

No, let them sleep it off. Main thing is to keep them warm and cosy for the next 24 hours. They should be drinking and peeing by the morning though, they might just be a little sore.

The trick is that they know that you know (what is going through their head) before they know ...impresses them no end and works far better than choke chains. also sharpens your understanding and "reading" of your dog

Advice for new puppy - Page 6 -...

Its definately not ok to put an 8 week old pup in a shed in this weather. Unfortunately thats what pups do, they poo, wee and scratch the place, its part and parcel of having a pup in the house. Its far too cold at night to have a young pup out there, are you not using the crate? this will stop the scratching and the paw marks on your wall for a start and the mess from going to the toilet. Pups are a lot of work as we said at the start of this...

Quote: how old is he now? I was about to ask the same thing. Looking back at the first post, he was 6 weeks old, so I'm guessing 9 or 10 weeks now. Still far too early to be worried about housetraining progress. It can take a good 6 months for a lot of dogs. Don't let the "housetrain your pup in 5 days" internet ads scare you. Just keep at it. I'd be inclined to do away with the pads. They only teach the dog...

The question I have is - is it cruel/unkind to put him in the utility room with a stair gate across from 9am-3pm?????
No, it's not at all cruel. Dogs don't needs lots of space, they need you. A dog left alone in a small space will lie down and happily go to sleep while you're away. A dog in a large space that allows them to pace around can ...

Ok, firstly, are you getting the pup aged 6 weeks? as this is too young to be taken from the mother, they should be at least 8 weeks.
Why dont you want the pup in the house at night? do you know how cold it is out there at nights now? I wouldnt be putting any pup outside to sleep now.
I dont understand why it cant be in the house during the day but not at night. I think its very unfair to...

Hi there, Well Having a dog in an apartment may not be easy but it can be done!! We lived in a one bedroom flat and got a Cavalier King Charles Puppy, a few weeks later we was given another cavalier puppy free, I didnt think for the life of me that I would be able to train them both with us having stairs to get into the garden and all but I did!
We started by placing news paper in the living ...

I know its the law Ghost, but do you think they are all going to attack/bite just because they are on the restricted list?
Its a shame that these poor doggies must be muzzled and unless i get stopped by a warden i will never put a muzzle on my fella.

ok, i love dogs, but sleepin in a bed with someone? That's just wrong, think of the fleas and the slobber! No, definitly unhygenic, there'll be hair everywhere and they will take over, even if it's a little fella, he'll claim the bed as his own after a couple of nights of sleepin with you. It's really hard then to get them into a routine of sleeping on their own. Definitly wouldn't recommend it....

Never mind what triggered it (could be anything really) just make sure to nip it in the bud. Have her walk on your inside, keep an eye and ear open for potential triggers and make sure she understands not to lunge at them.
If this habit is left to develop there will be a day when she pulls you (and herself) under a speeding van

I've seen many supposed wolf dogs but I always take those claims with a pitch of salt. IMO I'd say the real deal is v.rare.
