2 year Plan Price

That is for renewing one of the domains on your account. BlueHost recently switched from automatically renewing your main domain as the "free' one on your account to providing the coupon so that you can select for yourself which domain on your account is the "free" one.

throttling and wordpress
Published (2009-11-12 23:37:00)
The CPU throttling is actually a fairly new implementation. In the past if a site was found eating up resources on one of the shared servers, then that site would have been suspended. The owner would then have to go in and clean up whatever scripts or whatever was causing the problem. But until the offending site was found, all of the other users of that server would suffer. Bluehost implemented a realtime throttling mechanism that would allow...

While I definitely understand wanting the domains separate and often wish there were a few more independent options, a lot of what you're talking about is no longer true. You can let your main domain expire without having to rename the account. All that will happen is an immutable, root owned, .htaccess file gets dropped in your home directory. That redirects all traffic for the expired domain to the BH suspension page. Later, when it...

My Page looks like code
Published (2009-11-12 09:22:00)
Without seeing the actual page, it's hard to identify the problem. Are you developing a static HTML page? How familiar are you with HTML? I always recommend that you should pick up a book from the library or your local bookstore and get familiar with basic HTML.

Does that mean I have to redeem the coupon or something like that, I only have the one domain? Sorry if these questions sound dumb, this is my first time renewing.

Thank you for your feedback. farcaster - I used that file count tool to check file counts when I was lowering the file counts to get under 200k. Only issue with that is I have to email abuse@bluehost.com every time I perform an update to get a fresh count. It updates automatically on Tuesday. EricJ - Thx for the offer. According to this article I should use the df -i command. http://www.unix.com/unix-advanced-ex...des-mount.html This currently...

Index page?
Published (2009-11-13 06:33:00)
Quote: There are a few ways that you can fix this. One would be to edit your .htaccess file folder and add the following close to the top on the file: Options All -Indexes The second would be to create a totally empty index.html file in any directory that you don't want listed. I'm not really a techie guy but I will try this. I hope i make it right. Thanks.

The two year plan is $7.95 per month which comes to $190.80 for the two years. That includes the 'free' domain.
To get the $6.95 per month price you need to renew for three years at a total cost of $250.20.
All pricing inf can be found at http://helpdesk.bluehost.com/index.php/kb/article/ 141

I figured out how to run the Sinatra ruby gem on Bluehost. Although I'm using Rails, I've documented this for anyone else.
ASSumptions:
* You have your own [sub]domain and know how to point it from the
public_html directory to another directory in your account.
* You have ssh access.
* No Ruby or Gem environment variables are set. If you've setup
GEM_HOME elsewhere, ...

You need to put the file into your 'public_html' folder with a name of 'index.html'. Capitalization counts on a Linux server so be sure that you use all lower case in the file name.

That option will appear once you have made enough posts. There is now a
minimum number of posts required to the forum before you can add a
signature because there was recently a huge number of new signups to the
forum just so that they could post their signature spam into the membership
list. One of the other moderators therefore updated the forum to not allow

If you're seeing that small of an amount of throttling, there is probably nothing to worry about. Unless you are noticing latency on your site, and are seeing numbers greater than 10k seconds of throttling, then there may be something to worry about. Of the 86400 seconds in a day, you're only getting throttled for 700 of those.. Also, the throttling system is not a bad thing, it's actually a very...

50,000 files is very big number for 1 site. BH have another customers on the same server. You need VPS or dedicated server.
If all BH customers will have more than 50000 files fsck on this server will run for some days and sites will be down for this time.

You don't use an ip address, you use your main domain name.

It's installed. You have to configure your php.ini to utilize it.
See this Knowledge Base Article
Also on your cPanel see the PHP Config section at the bottom.

You can assign more than one user to a db and grant the rights that are required. Would this help you in what you are trying to do? You could create a third user with access to both, or create cross access to the existing users. It can be done easily in the MySQL area on the cPanel.

I would assume that your add on site files are to be located in the subdomain that's created, therefore google will view them as being one and the same site, not a duplicate. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong.

I've had the same thing happen on my blog. I was able to fix this through the uninstall screen in Simple Scripts, which gives you the option to remove the installation from your install list and leave the installation itself alone. I guess the person you were talking to at BlueHost wasn't aware of that little feature... :/

I would start by checking your DNS entries with whomever you have them listed.
And I'm a bit confused. Is this a Bluehost hosted site? When I tried to navigate to the home page crewmailonline.com I got redirected to smsglobal.net
