I think that the tax is a bit of a red herring. $2000.00 in sales tax +/- on the cars we're discussing here, if purchased outright as a used car. Subtract from that what you'd pay in sales tax over the term of the lease. The difference is . . . not very much money. Not enough to sway the decision IMHO. Alternatively, one factor that can sway the decision for me is the fact that leases include gap insurance. If some moron texting...

I can't speak for him, but I think alot of us pulled back a bit in ask a dealer because of some of the mooch attitudes we were having to deal with and getting flamed for being on the dealer's side of the arguments here. He's doing fine though as far as I know.

Yes, I think getting CPO for way less than residual is pretty good. I would do it.

Yep I believe that's correct. You have to buy them by a certain date and I believe it is 90-days out at the latest.
I just checked my agreement and it's not listed either, which makes you're case tougher. Since it can be considered a BMWFS special courtesy offer to its clients and you don't have much to stand on to argue for it.
I just checked my acct at bmwusa.com and it mentions you can...

I'm currently leasing a 2008 528i that's ending in a month. I'm interested in leasing a '10 X5D. Does anyone know about current BMW FS credit requirements? My wife and I both have credit scores in the 700s but we have a fair amount of credit card debt. Nothing we can't handle but I'm a bit concerned that BMW FS may have stricter approval standards due to the economic conditions. Does BMW ...

Bought a car from private party who had a employee lease. Paid him the payoff amount and now he needs BMW to send him the tile to sign over to me. I live in Nevada, so there is no private party sales/use tax here.
I just got the following email from the seller (current owner) needing a copy of a licensed auto dealer license for tax issues. any insight would be appreciated as I don't ...

That is a very well- optioned car, which also includes ventilated seats if it has perforated leather. The price is probably $25,000 less than MSRP, for what that's worth. These cars haven't gone for close to MSRP in several years, and 2010 is the last MY for the E60 with the F10 due out in 3 months. If that car were new in the showroom you could probably drive out with it for less than $90k....

You do know that the price includes a $12,000 down payment.
