you have renewed my conviction of staying the hell away from power lines. Those are some vivid and powerful descriptions, they would make a great script for an animated short film. ( pun intended) I am definitely with you on the dangers and the potentials the inductive currents sound pretty scary.

In this article, they say the crane was good for 7900 lb at that extension, and the log was estimated at 6200......but it was cut wrong, and shock loaded the crane. Was it really 12,100 lb? It's large, but doesn't look that large. http://www.pressdemocrat.com/article...tc=autorefresh

yes i actually like it better they are way less exspensive to make. i wear mechanical adjusters out ive went through 2 of them so far after time even after lubing them up they start sticking and i have to fight to get it how i want it. another plus is that you can cut it. if you are running a steel core lanyard with a mechanical adjuster it is alot harder to cut it in an emergency.

It locks up really easily, the problem is when you try to give rope out or lower on it. When lowering you have to open i wide up, and you get a "jumpy" or "unsmooth" lowering.
I wouldnt recomend it if your gonna use it as a selfbelay on srt, but I guess it can be used as a lowering device, but it aint that good.
Can also be used to tie the srt rope of at the base level of the tree, so ...

Looks good. I don't know how it looks on the actual paper, but on the computer screen, the text is a little hard to read through the snow flakes. Other than that, I like it!

Doesnt look to have any real structural problems. it's not gonna just fall over on the house. sell the HO on a dead-wooding, and you oughta be OK. Of course, not only do I not know everything, I am not there, so use your best judgement.

Well, I'm not in your line of work, but I finally got a smart phone about 6 months ago. So, from that perspective, I'll toss a few thoughts your way.
For starters, your smart phone is likely to be a lot more fragile than a dumb phone. It's just the nature of the beast. Get a good protective cover for it
If you don't take the time to learn the software, you are wasting yoru money. ...

1 full day of climbing and chipping for 4 guys. I climbed 3 of the five catalpas and both the elms. My bro did the spruce and 2 other catalpas. Other than having to chunk down the spruce and a small pile of rakings all that was left for the next day was the wood.
