WOW over 100. I am sorry for you and your peers. The hospitals by me do not use LPNs... Is it me or does this seem to change throughout the years? They get rid of LPNs and years down the road they start hiring LPNs and start weeding out RNs because of pay/budget. Then years down the road again, they weed out the LPNs and bring back RNs. Can you work in a clinic vs a LTC facility? Clinics are a nice option if you can because many times they are...

So I'm 3 months on my way to 4 on my first job as an LVN Its a telemetry floor. To begin with I am married no kiddos. I asked when I was hired to work days but when I received my offer from the hospitals it was for nights. When i asked why i was told it was pretty much impossible for new nurses to get a day shift. Well okay but when I started we were trained on days, and all of the new hires were my classmates and have of those had...

Fingers crossed. Depending on your state you can get quick results on the PearsonVue website or by phone. But your state must participate.

Greetings Jackie, I am also in the same boat. I have only been away 3 years, but I need some refreshers too. I have been searching the internet for help, but it's a jungle out there. Have you had any luck finding anything?

When I first started working the only shifts available to me were the day/night swing. It took me 3 years before a day/eve fte opened up. My current job, although I knew I wanted days. I ended up being hired onto a straight eve, I hated it. Thankfully within 6 mo. our hospital went to 12 hour shifts and I was lucky enough to get onto the straight day, well 7am-7pm shift. I know it is hard to not be on the shift of your preference. As a...

I work 3-11 at LTC passing meds for 44 patients, hired as a new grad with 5 days orientation. After 3 weeks I'm doing well, but I was talking with my supervisor last night and we were discussing the pay at an office we both worked at when I was a medical assistant. He said the LPN pay stunk at $19/hr 2 yrs ago... That's what they're paying me now! I also get $2 for after 3pm and $1 for weekends, ...

i'm still just in shock. Some had been there for 30 plus years. Everyone was called into HR and told they were no longer needed and would not be working another shift. Hi. I have been out of nursing for about 7 years now but because my license has not lapsed for more than 5 years, I am not required to take a refresher course to have it reinstated. However, I would like to brush up on my own. Are there any free refresher type programs or sites available online or maybe a book? I have an NCLEX LPN study guide book and it helped to go through the questions and...

LVNs in my area get their degree from the Community College. Not all of them get a college degree, but they have gone to college to get their education... For those that have the LVN and have gone to college to get that but did not get a degree as well (i.e. AS in LVN) then they would technically check the box that says "some college". If you are in a tech school and have your LPN without a ...
