> Cathy, while I agree it's a bummer for the schedulers, not so much for us Meanwhile the influx of new shoppers has caused my income from companies like CoRI to drop off a bit. Too many people picking up those jobs at the original prices

> What about creating an LLC (Limited Liability Corporation) to take the responsibility off of you individually and putting the responsibility on to your LLC? Then, the person would be able to sue your company for any assets (perhaps a computer or a car-both of which are assets that depreciate in value). I would suggest asking your accountant and attorney about this. Starting an LLC cost should be minimal. My state is expensive, about $250....

Servanne, Last year, while on a mystery/reveal shop, an nearly retired lady clerk in a gas station told me that she and her husband worked several years for them, doing routes of fast food restaurants from their RV.

Last minute shops---today only!
Published (2009-11-25 01:03:00)
> This is basically how I've started out mystery shopping. I had JUST signed up to a few companies and the next day started to get calls to complete urgent shops. They did slow down a little though. Probably because I've done them all! I've had to turn a few down with the holidays coming up. I had already planned out a few shops and some of the calls I'm getting are for towns that are too far away. The day before...

These offers are NOT from AboutFace; they are from scammers who are only after your money. Fraudulent jobs such as these often involve asking you to cash checks, wire money from Western Union or from a particular bank or to accept a trial job that can lead to a large salaried position. Last minute shops---today only!
Published (2009-11-24 18:09:00)
> A couple of the companies I shop for (ISC, ICCDS) seem to have gone to a system where they email out shop requests, but only if the shops can be done that day. Sometimes it's for shops that day, or the next day. Of course I get these email pleas long after my day is planned, and in some cases after my day of being out and about is finished. I've noticed that many of these shops don't seem to get done, with the schedulers...

I did three shops in 2008. When I emailed about payment that I did not have a record of having received, I got a very courteous and prompt reply. So aces in my book. I would be happy to shop for them anytime in the future. Payment amount for the shop was good, too.

I called them this morning and almost immediately reached a human! Apparently they've gone through some changes and their offices were partially flooded out last year - but they seem to be bouncing back. I was told applications are normally reviewed on Mondays, so we'll see what happens next.

I've been getting more of those too. You think it's just a high percentage of flakes and/or re-shops? This is the time of year when people THINK MSing will be a great way to pick up extra dough for the holidays

When I have them tell me my car needs all these things, I tell them to write it down on an est. sheet and I will have my brother who is a master GM mechanic and has been a mechanic for 50 years look it over, I never get anything in writing from them, they say Oh, we can't do that, we told you what it needs. I disagree with the comment stating it's okay to list the companies that you work for on new applications. I ran across one IC agreement that said you can't even tell your spouse you work for them...but, I can tell an another MS Company??? To make matters easier for me, I take the strictest rule and apply it to all the companies. Less thinking for me. PS I do...
