I think the answers are no for #1 you can only resample one pattern at a time with no switching. And no for #2. The start and end points only have two modes a regular edit in Seconds, and a fine edit in Milliseconds (when you press the special key). Also you can NOT adjust bar length while a sequence is playing and you can NOT adjust start/end point either.

if your using only one loop you could trim the loop precisely and press the loop button and pad at the same time. Or you could loop it in the sequencer. if your working with more than one loop you have to do it live unless you can get it sounding good in the sequencer.
