Maybe I haven't been clear enough: I'm not running ANY server. I just want to change from Outlook client (non-Exchange) to Zimbra client (non-server), but I do need/want to keep my mail available. However, importing in Zimbra is only TGZ which cannot be generated by Outlook (or any other email proggies that I'm aware of). Kinda ridiculous not being able to import from Outlook, imo.

So, while the re-index didn't work, I sucked it up and did a reset, and that appears to be working. I don't know what happened to the db before, but search works now. It just stinks I need to re-download all 3.1 gb of my mail (yes, I'm a packrat).

Yes -- it says "Enter the hostname and port of the Zimbra server". That's the Zimbra server you are migrating to. Then just the username and password of an account in that zimbra server. Nothing to do with Exchange.

it's a bummer. would have been cool. i downloaded zimbra because i wanted to get away from hotmail's cookies that they kept dumping on my machine to serve ads. at least the $20 gets me away from that part of the problem.

This was one of the most requested things in our office when we switched from outlook to zimbra. From what I have seen the zimbra desktop doesn't duplicate outlook's functionality in this regard, however it provides what I consider a better way to find emails. I am having similar issues, but I will try to give a more thorough error report. New install of ZD, on Kubuntu 9.10, fresh install, 1.03 build 1691. If you want to distribute addresses to everyone, there are options like sharing address books, or publishing the GAL so that people have access to addressbooks online within their Zimbra client. hello I dondt have any import export funccion in my preferences what can I do? I think is something related with the privileges. as I have said in the post there is not export/import in the preferences tab and neither inside calendar of preferences.
