The front axle and it's attendant sleeve nut, both of which are clamped to the fork legs by the bolts you mentioned tend to freeze together by galvanic reaction due to the axle and nut being galvanized steel and the fork leg being alloy. Mine was a bitch to get off the first time too, but once broken loose, I lubed the threads with wheel bearing grease before re-assembly. Now it comes apart like butta. Leave one side clamped, preferably...

kawi motors are notorious for head noise, as long as it doesnt suddenly get worse you should be alright. and if it makes you feel better check or have someone check your valve clearances

Float height for E is 4mm +/- 2mm. All others 13mm +/- 2mm. By E1 Service manual says 4.5 +/- 1mm Both are good But E1's allows a little more fluctuation so I would go with that.

Man that is a big diffrenc to go from 13mm to 4.5mm on the float hight isnt it. But if thats what your book says and you run yours like that then hey thats what it is. I am just really supprised...

Battlax is the tire Kawi uses. They've been on the bike since it was new, probably why they needed to be replaced last year. I think you would be happy with an 08 ZX6R. It's a whole new animal now compared to 20yrs ago. And there's so many mods and upgrades, you'll be entertained for quite a while with one. They're great bikes, but if you end up dumping another $1000 to get it to 100%, I'd try talking him down a...

your doing it right, only loosen the pinch bolts on the nut side. then you should be able to break the nut loose. threads should be right handed. i believe the nut is on the right side.

your doing it right, only loosen the pinch bolts on the nut side. then you should be able to break the nut loose. threads should be right handed. i believe the nut is on the right side.

The service manual. Shimming valves is very confusing. Read alot...lol Always use the specs, and use the manual!

09 zx10 exhaust help
Hi I just bought a full Akrapovic exhaust for my 09 ZX10 and I was curious if I need a commander to go along with it to run right? If I can get buy with out it for right now that would be great if not ill just have to wait a few before I install it. Thank you Nick
