Matt, not sure about fitment, but the guy selling them assures quality fitment. He posted some pics on the other forum and from what I saw, the fitment looked awesome. But...I can not guarantee that the hood in the photos are photos of HIS hood. Ask around on the Corvette forum. And, nothing wrong with wanting perfection.... Speaking of which, I am eating some Dreyer's Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream and it is PERFECT!!!

If I was you this is how I would compare a c5 vs c6 z's C5- around $ 25k C6- around $ 50k I would go c5z just becuase of price. I have been happy with my choice of c5z and not upgrading to the c6z. Like Jasonsamara said things happen pretty quick and I am glad I have the extra cash to afford other things. Unfortunately to me there are more important things to buy than cars. But in 3 years you could be comparing a new c7 or a c6. Basically...

Driver's side window...

Thanks for the advice as usual Rocket. You say peel the panels, I assume you remove the panel, or are you pressing the panel away from the window and hitting it with the WD at the same time? I think the regulator cable is starting to go, as the window does the little jump in the same location every time I roll it down. I had this same problem on my 02 Z71 right before the cable snapped in two. It has only gotten stuck a few times, and that was...

Hey Glenn, i did just have a hood installed. Its a DRM hood. Looks killer, but I am not happy with the fit. Overall its good, but you know how picky I am. I want it perfect. I saw the ones you mentioned, but how is the fit on them? Anyone know?

Nice to see someone close to home. Have you tried WCC or Corvette Specialties, both off the 91 fwy. There are plenty other small performance shops in the area. I know that I have seen some shops on the east side of the 71.

You need to sell the Z28 and buy a used truck/suv...Probably something late 90s-2005 for $5-$7k. This gives you a rainy day primary car and the Z can be in the "hobby/pleasure" class (<10k miles a year) which should save you some money on insurance...

I fear the regulator is crapping out on the driver's side, as it jumps when it's about halfway down and sometimes sticks. Does anyone know where to buy regulators cheaper than the dealer? I did a search, but did not find any sources for these puppies.

Matt, didn't you just buy a hood? I am not familiar with Eckler's, but if you call them I am sure they will tell you th eone they are selling is an MCM hood. They are most likely an authorized seller. Poke around on the Corvette forum. They have a guy selling MCM replica hoods for $899 in carbon fiber and $699 for some duraflex type. Before I spend $1500+ on any hood, I will ...

Gotta go with the Vette. Obviously handles better and responds better to performance mods in general. Reference the newest Shelby Mustangs with 700 plus HP and can't use the bulk of their potential if for no other reason than you can't get a tire with sufficient width to fit in the rear wheel well. And at speed the Vette has better aerodynamics.
