i took her to the vet yesterday because she didnt want to eat; she examined her and saw nothing wrong; and then fed her there by a syringe; she said she's just doesnt like the food and gave her a b complex shot. then around 8pm i fed her dinner; RC wet and dry rx food; she liked it and ate it. then around 5am she vomited bile; then again 1 hr later vomited bile with clots of blood; also her stomach was making lots of gurguling noise. the...

Merrick BG gave Snick the runs I tried it way back when he was transitioning off Merrick's Puppy Plate to adult food. We ended up going with Evo at that time and used Evo for about a good 6-7 months with NV raw. Then Snick decided he was sick of Evo & NV and now we use Acana supplemented with Primal raw and he is loving to eat again. I'm very happy with the foods I am currently feeding. Champion Foods (makers of Acana and...

If you are down south and can make the trip, I would go to the U of Tenn Vet School for LS surgery, as they are the leaders in this. LS is not a death sentence. If possible surgery is recommended and the outcome is pretty good!

I agree with Carol (Archie) - Beneful is a horrible food. Please do a little research and find a good quality food for your baby. You'll actually save money by feeding a better food because the cheap foods are nothing but filler so you have to feed more of it to keep the pup full. Also, you'll probably spend much less on vet bills over the years if you feed a healthy diet.

An ear ointment can be given that covers *both* yeast and bacteria for 10 days, if that's what the vet sees. I would go to the vet asap.

Hello: I am so sorry to hear about poor little Ava. It is sometimes hard to get sick pets to eat their proper diets, and I feel for you and her. I do not know what to suggest, but I wish Ava a speedy recovery.

We do not get it for any of our dogs and our vet doesn't give it unless requested. They don't even give it to their own dogs! It depends on your area though....if there are cases of lepto it might be needed. If you were to get it I would just stay at the vet office a little longer to make sure there isn't a reaction.

Merricks Before Grain foods After much research on finding a new food for my dogs, I have decided to stick with Merricks. Im going to try thier grain free foods. The chicken is only 32 percent so it isnt super high in protien. Im super happy with the company and the quality of their ingredients and my dogs like almost all the foods we have tried. I put in a order for thier ...

How old is she? Do you pluck the hair out of her ears? She could have ear mites. If it smells really bad - I would take her to the vet. If it's an infection she'll need an antibiotic to clear it up.

I'm not sure about the protein and fat % in HK, so I have no idea if she will ever be able to go back to it. Her fat intake will have to be closely monitored for life. Innova Senior or something from the Natural Balance line may work; however, they aren't specifically formulated for this problem and they may not work as well as an rx food. Food that is made for pancreatitis ...

My two are currently on Orijen, but I am switching to Fromms Surf and Turf next week. The store I usually buy from is out of the Orijen and the Acana (which is what I was going to switch them to). Fromms Surf and Turf is grain free but not too high in protien. I am looking forward to trying it. The staining may go away after a few weeks on the new food. Something else you can ...

We also have many people on the group that I mentioned if my first post, that have

they had dogs die from greenies a while back, because they did not digest well. They were have supposed to make them more digestable, I dont trust them any more personally. I would keep a close eye and make sure you get the right size and if your dog chew them quickly, they could have more problems

He needs to see the vet so they can look at his skin, make sure there is nothing going on in the area, probably have skin testing (like cytology) done, and run blood work.
Sometimes things become less of an issue for dogs when they are away from home (vet, daycare), sine there are more important things to think about for them. But there could still be a problem.

What was she eating before homecooked? Obviously each dog likes something a little different, but the kibbles I'd recommend are Orijen, EVO, Wellness & CORE.
