so how can you compare and say WM will suffer the same fate? WM's prime business is not mortgage lending. And they have enough assets (not to mention the infusion of $7billion in new capital with the ability to raise more) We might see a further decline but in the long run the stock will bounce back to low to mid teens

i think they use the deposit money to lend for mortgages. they earn money by making mortgage loans, primarily single family.
