Just as long as I can go upside some kid's head when he pronounces the title as "Exsir-exsees". Here is the Cliff Clavinesque answer from Answers.com about the origin of the marathon: PheidippidÄs (or Philippides), the Athenian runner who, according to Herodotus (6. 105-6), was sent to request help from Sparta before the battle of Marathon in 490 BC (see PERSIAN WARS, also PAN). He arrived there the day after he left...

I thought a cameo by Johnny Depp would be fun, but would probably go over the heads of most of the target audience, since they weren't even born when the
show was on.

Let's see; "Marmaduke" has only been around for about 55 FREAKING YEARS and only now some Hollyweird wunderkind has the bright
idea to make a movie out of it? Man, there must be kids running the accursed place, since only kids think that you can keep putting something off forever
because it will always be there.

I'll wait for DVD or PPV to enjoy it in peace. I'm planning on seeing Sherlock Holmes which looks like a hoot, and Up In The Air ,
which looks interesting, and has some Oscar buzz. And if you haven't seen it yet, I recommend The Fantastic Mr. Fox .

I have yet to see A Christmas Story , but I have seen It's A Wonderful Life more than a few times, and I try to add an MST3K voiceover to
certain scenes. I do watch Christmas Vacation once in awhile if I think about it and get it from the library or rent it.
"Clark, don't tell the
missus, but I'm planning a little vacation as a surprise Christmas gift..."

Well, IMHO, it will make the next ST that much more anticipated, especially if there's a quickie promo in the theatres, say Christmas 2011 or Summer 2012.
Oh, but I forgot, the world will end in 2012. Oh, darn.

And as always, STAY AWAY FROM THE CANS!
