Buy a new evap...
Heatup the current evap and pull the stub free
Cut the captube and toss that evap in the trash because if I understand you correctly then you drilled a second hole in that evap with the evap sealed. This means you have metal shavings inside that evap.
Next replace the
filter drier by cutting it loose and cutting the cap loose.
Next measure that captube and tell me the size...

What kind of Oil sep are you using? Floated or non floated? Have you used this oil sep before?
It sounds to me like it may be the oil
clogging the system.

My school's
refrigeration lab uses air/acetylene torches - they work fine
for brazing. Not sure how it will work compared to oxy/mapp though. Might
be nice to get if you find yourself going through O2 tanks all the time.

I briefly ran some reciprocating compressors sucking in atmospheric air when I was trying to figure out if they were functional or DOA. I however proceeded to change out their POE oil for
mineral oil as I always do so.. I didn't worry about sucking in any humid air. Didn't run them for long, just long enough to verify they were capable of spinning up. You could do the same I suppose, I had no ...

This one might be a better deal. Its 115V. I still think you should go with something that uses
refrigerant other than R22, though so I'll continue to look.

Difficult to say without being there. You're sure you've got the wire connected to the right spot.
Usually, when something doesn't run properly at work... perhaps a compressor doesn't spin up because the
pressure sensor is getting false readings and thus the controller won't turn it on.... it usually means there is a wiring error.
