To answer the questions. Damon and Stefan use Zach as a cover- as in the live with uncle zach instead of being 'minors' with no parents. When in reality Zach i'm assuming is a descendant of there family- probably a grand (grand grand .....) nephew of some such....so he refers to them as uncle.

Courtney Cox Arquette was. I'd guess the problem was that Monica and Chandler were supposed to have been reproductively challenged and in the middle of adopting a baby from a pregnant teenager played by Anna Faris.

WTTH The Good; Great opening scene, straight from every slasher flick ever but with a Joss twist.
