Some in-game text is really small, and with a SDTV, it's almost impossible to read. I know how you feel, as I had this problem with Dead Rising when I purchased my console. There's no real fix for this. Some developers have catered to those who still use a SDTV, but everyone just assumes that every household has a HDTV. BAM! and the dirt is gone! Yeah you might as well go for an HDMI or a new HD component cable. Sorry if you mentioned that you already went through HD cables I'm really tired right now haha.

The first jasper arcade I bought new last december, the disc drive died after a month of light use.? Sent in for repair and they sent back another jasper that had a build date newer than the one I sent.? It lasted two weeks before it was constantly freezing on the dash and in games, sold it as broken on craigslist and put the money towards a new RE5 LE that is my current box. 360 #4- Jasper Elite RE5 -My setup

Nevermind! I unplugged the fans and "cooked" it for a while (let the heatsink get plenty hot), and the console booted this time. For now, anyhow. Only modifications I made were as follows: Proper application of thermal paste (M$ is hardly alone in doing this - witness what Apple went through with the original X86 Macbooks, but still - when will manufacturers learn that thermal paste is ...

Unless your current Xbox 360 is broken and out of warranty, getting a new console because it is a 'jasper' is idiotic.

the HD VGA cables are fine. I have a 20" monitor with a max res. of 1680x1050 and the Xbox was able to pick up that resolution. It looks really good.

No, using another console with your HDD while your console is off at repair will not affect the other console. E74 is covered by the extended 3-year warranty, so you should take advantage of it if you still can.

The e74 error is covered under a 3-year warranty, are you sure you've had the console longer than that? Otherwise the service is $100 through MS.

The PSU from Gamestop should definitely work. I'm pretty sure MS was right that the old PSU was dead, since the solid read light means something is wrong with the actual PSU. As for the flashing between orange and green on the new one, I have no idea what that means, nor have I ever heard of that happening before. I'd take the new PSU back to Gamestop and either exchange it or return it. ...

Yes it is possible. Although, a few people have been unsuccessful with the transfer process, as the 250gb HDD isn't being read for some reason.

To me it sounds more like there's something wrong with the HDMI cable. You went through three 360's and still had this problem? Then my guess it's the cable or the adapter. But it affects the TV imaging so again, it's probably the HDMI.
