Trying To Determine How My Xbox...

Make sure you have your EEPROM data backed up before getting too carried away. You'll need this to install new drives anyway. If I were you, I'd set about applying your new softmod or whatever to your new large HDD. That way, the drive that's in there now can be left as is, so that you've got a spare that you know works.

I Need Some Information And Help...
Published (2009-11-22 05:04:00)
Thank you for the info, have a few more questions. the C: drive holds a lot of stuff. I assume that erasing it would be a bad idea. What exactly do I need to copy over from the unleashx install? How do I identify the files necessary for the dash switch. (have it installed already on another box, and assuming I can't transfer over the c: drive either) X2 4981 isn't the latest version. Can you help me to understand why this one works...

Hi, Thanks for the reply yes that helps a little. AID v4 was the second step taken after the person ran the exploit from AUF, MA or SC is that correct? I guess I have 2 choices from here (let me know if there are more) 1) buy an AR+MU and one of the games, remove the softmod and softmod with Krayzie's NDure 1.1.1 2) Use Cash V1.1 and try to guess at what version of NDure I have and what game was used for the softmod and try to upgrade...

Controller Doesn't Work
Published (2009-11-26 04:41:00)
My sister just dug out my old modded xbox and it boots up fine. It has an x3 chip in it. But the controller doesn't work. I took it back apart and everything was tight. One wire came off but I think it was just an LED. I resoldered it and the controller still doesn't work. Any ideas?

NDURE and AID are two different mods. You can use CASH and choose AID or "other" softmod. I'm not sure if you can run NKPatcher to get past the 137gig limitation or not. If it were me, I would use CASH Ver 1.1 or Frosty's Rescue disk. Personally I have used CASH a couple of times but never had the need for Frosty's yet.

Yes the system was modded with AID4, there are many ways it could have been hacked to read that disc first. For me I usually use my Splinter Cell and my memory card with the hacked splinter cell save file on it, after the initial install I put in AID and start from scratch there. Formatting the entire drive then moving along. So AID is usually used 2nd. Dont know if that helps just wanted to explain how it "could" have been...

Help! Chipped Xbox no longer...
Published (2009-12-01 04:02:00)
Since this topic was exactly what my problem was, I didn't know if I should start another thread or just add on to this one since the OP was fixed. I got an xbox from a friend of mine about three months ago, I wanted it for the Media Center but it had a bunch of games and music on it also. It was running the avalaunch (sp) dash and it was chipped. The other day when trying to start it the avalaunch dash won't come up, but if I click...

Calling All 2tb Hd, Xbox 1 Owners

2tb WD Green, same price http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...6-344-_-Product i have one of these (and a few 1tb greens) and love them all, although i have not used them in an xbox and, FYI, the xbox cannot use partitions over 1tb, but you can make 2 partitions to use drives up to 2tb, subtle but important difference, and make sure you format F and G with xbpartitioner 1.1

Buy a ready made one ....... Seriously, they cost next to nothing, and it's far easier than trying to second guess the cable colours that a controller manufacturer decided to use. This post has been edited by Heimdall : Today, 01:58 PM

Dashboards are not softmods. Softmods are one of the ways to boot dashboards. You should be able to simply use DVD2XBox to copy the game disc to your drive, then run it the same way you run any other game. There's no region switching for the game images themselves - the console controls the output, and your mod removes the region lockout. If that's not working, then describe what happens ...
