Prices in Dubai after financial...

Chyan, there's no financial meltdown. One company doesn't have enough money to repay a bond that's due for repayment in two weeks, that's all. The rest of the economy is exactly as it always was. The price of the things you ask about will go up or down or stay exactly as they are in the normal way, based on the usual factors. We're coming into the peak travel season so if airfares do anything you...

ST. SIMON OR SALEDIN CASTLE?
Published (2009-11-28 02:55:00)
They're both great but, as others have said, you're going to the Krak so St Simeon will be another experience again. If you can find time to visit a Dead City or two along the way, so much the better. Even better still - make a whole day of it and go all the way to Cyrrhus, right up near the Turkish border. Stop at Ein Dara along the way. Fantastic!

Hi, On Nov 28, 2009 we plan to visit Wild wadi water park in jumeriah. We will be staying near Mall of Emirates. Can anyone guide me the best way to reach there . Taxi or MEtro. IF it is taxi, what would be the approx charge, as I dont want the taxi drivers to take me for a ride. We plan to spend the entire day there. are there anyother places worth seeing there. Thnx

If you are staying in a hotel then probably they provide free schuttle buses to various locations which one of them could be the wild wadi! Otherwise taxi is the only way to reach there.

ST. SIMON OR SALEDIN CASTLE?

Good advice from The Local. Although half day seems a bit quick.I would think a full day would be better with time out for lunch or at least an ice cream at St Simeons.

UnaS, you have been very helpful in the past weeks with all the questions that I have asked! I greatly appreciate it. Have you heard of Sandemans? The do free walking tours in several cities in Europe and in Jerusalem. The offer other tours, at cost, as well. According to their website, looks like their meeting point is at the Jaffa Gate near the Tourist info station. They also have an independent travelers center at 1 Ben Shatach St, phone...

Officially the area around the Mosque and the Shrine are open to all in the morning hours only, Sat. - Thurs. Never on Friday. This does not include entry to the Mosques or the Shrine themselves, which only Muslims may visit. That said, if it is a period of tension or unrest either the Wakf of Jerusalem and/or the Israel Police may limit visiting or close it altogether. Best to ask at your hotel or the police on site on the day that you want...

I believe the place to which you refer is located within the Abu Dhabi Intercontinental Hotel? You could either write to The Manager c/o The Hotel, Bainouna Street, Abu Dhabi 4171. Or else go to the Intercontential Abu Dhabi website and click on customer care - there is a form to fill in.

well, you cant, because when you rent a car you have to show your ID and if an israely rents for you, you wont be able to drive that car unless specified that there is an extra driver, but that costs. same for hotel room.

Therer is no phone or email for the servis between Amman and Damascus. You can pick up a servis from one of the taxi offices around the Abdali bus station. They leave when they are full or you can opt to pay the fare for all seats (there are 5)to have the taxi to yourselves for a more comfortable ride. The fares are set by the government, prices for all transport have risen since I was in ...

The Dome of the Rock itself ( it isn't technically a Mosque) is not open to non-Muslims.--although there are a few unlicensed guides who seem to manage to get non-Muslims in. (and no, I won't share names/contacts, sorry) The Temple Mount itself ( I forget what the Muslims call it) is usually open Sunday-Thursday AM. You do not need to make a reservation, just get in line--near security line to ...
