The sentence I wrote may sound rare, but I was only trying to show a contrast between the imperfect and the past progressive to the other member. Quote: No suena raro, de hecho se dice de las dos maneras, pero yo utilizo más la primera. Quizás no hayas leído lo que ya señalé el mensaje anterior: Quote: Sí, en el caso a que te referís son intercambiables. Con respecto a tu ejemplo, lo más común y la manera que más oigo es el modo del...

Published (2009-11-12 21:24:00)
"Que hubiera pensado en las consecuencias. Ya es muy tarde para lamentarse." Many times in Spanish, the actual 'verb' is implied with the subjunctive. For example: (Espera) Que hubiera pensado en las consecuencias. Ya es muy tarde para lamentarse. In other words: He wishes he had thought more about the consequences! It's too late now to feel sorry. I also like the translation: If he had only thought about the...

I definitely know for sure that estar buena means looks attractive and ser buena is like having a nice personality. Being a genuinely GOOD person. As far as the other instance, I normally would say la sopa es buena , but I'm not positive if it's totally correct.

But what you're saying in Englis is not I vomited, so either vomité or vomitaba could be ok Vomiting -> vomitar fue horrible. No use for muy, horrible is strong enough, as you can't say something was "un poco horrible", it's either ...

SpanishLotus, you ask a question and then you say that essentially you are asking about something else All the verbs you have used in Spanish are correct. There are some other strange things in your first sentence that you can try to correct if you are interested.

I think it might be better to replace nor with neither in this context. "They weren't happy and neither was I" Perhaps the other forum members have an opinion on this?

Hola a todos, Miré en una telenovela donde se dijo asi " Ella sospecha que tu tengas relación con su esposo" . Lo que me confunde es el uso del subjuntivo. Yo pienso que sería el indicativo tienes en vez de tengas. ¿Qué piensan ustedes? Gracias
