Hello, Saarah7, You see, this is not a teaching forum. You do learn a lot, but the WRF forums are basically an extension of the on line dictionaries. If you find a term or a sentence particularly difficult you can search the dictionary first, and if you can´t find it you can open a thread with the word or the sentence in question; that way if some other person needs to translate that particular term or sentence they will find it easily. So...

Dear Oldy Nuts: Very interesting. I once answered a question. The poster sent me a thank-you message. I acknowledged his thank-you note and added that he had made a slight spelling error. The mod immediately deleted my acknowledgment note because I had had the temerity to mention the spelling error. I no longer answer any questions. I do enjoy reading the posts of others, and I occasionally TRY to post a question. As you said, we can take it...

If this site was over-moderated there wouldn't be so many answers to posts that don't give context. Unless I'm misunderstanding how much is sufficient context. Rule number 3 says that the post must Provide complete sentences and background information every time you ask a question. Emphasis added by me. Also, when you post using the advanced post section, there is the reminder: Do not reply to threads with no context. Report...

I found a site where a teacher gives a topic and then others say something about it and then the teacher corrects the mistakes .This way you get a lot of practice. The only problem with that site is there is not much of an activity and the teacer is not on usually. The best thing here is if you ask nything ,you get the answer in 5 mints. There are a lot of people from different nationalites speaking different languages. If there is thread on...

I suspect that there is a maximum number of threads that can be listed in the dictionary.
Most of the time we are not aware of this.
But searching on a very common term produces a very large number of threads.
The forum software probably lists just the first XXX of these.
If I look up "or" in the English Only dictionary the list ends at Advice Note or Advise Note

It is not entirely clear what you have in mind, and we can give a more reasonable answer once we know what you are thinking of.
How would the questions posted in this forum be different from those that we already have in the English Only forum? Could you give us a couple of examples of questions or exercises that might be posted in a forum like this?

If you want to change your "nick", see FAQ on "How do I change my username (as we call it)?"
You register simply again with the name you prefer and stop using the old name. You will need another email address for this.
If I have misunderstood your question, please ask again, explaining what you mean.

I also observed the same way. A beginner like me would rather just read than post a topic for fear that i might not be able to make it to their rules and standards in posting. I once posted and it was deleted right away. Of course as a newbie we wanted to be belong or join in any discussion without being brushed-off immediately due to our slight mistakes and lacking of full knowledge (just yet) ...

Hello everybody,
I'm happy to announce a new forum. This one is different from all the other WordReference forums. It is not a place to ask a question! That's right—no questions are allowed in the new forum. Instead, it's a place to suggest new words and phrases to add to the WR English Dictionaries.
What kinds of things can you suggest?
– English words , things you see on the web ...
