The most unique thing about Gulf slang is the pronunciation of the letter qaf ق , as it is pronounced (g) . This letter is pronounced something else in most of Arab slangs, maybe it is pronounced as it is only in The Maghreb countries as I know. I can't help you much about the expressions used in the dialect as I am not Gulf native.

I read in a grammar book, that عندي can't be used for something you cannot separate, so عندي أخي isn't correct. My question is would Liya be the correct usage? As in لي أخي or something else? Also colloquially what's common usage to describe ownership?

Ah! An "old" word! تحبّش ta7abbasha = to be assembled / collected together. This is explained in the statement that follows: أي تجمع بعضها إلى بعض [Also, 7abbasha حبّش = to collect / gather people together.]

Hi, I can only speak of the Egyptian dialect. Here we use the prefixe indicating the future حـ H : حتذاكر حتنجح = you'll study, you'll succeed. I think the past is also used ذاكرت حتنجح if you studied you'll succed But let's wait for more opinions.
