Have you tried: - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s). - switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

You could do this in WordPress. For example with custom taxonomies and/ or custom fields, and a plugin such as Search Everything or Search Unleashed. You might want to take a look at ZenPhoto or Gallery2 as well. These are from the start more specialized in photography itself.

Manage Plugin updates...

I'm using WordPress 2.8.6. There seems to be a problem with the Manage Plugins page. It says a plugin needs updating but the plugin isn't getting updated. I click on the "update automatically" link and get a series of messages that it is doing its thing and did it successfully but it really didn't. The plugin is still at the old version and the Manage Plugins page still says it needs to be updated to the newer...

I guess I'm confused as to why you'd put your WP install in a non web-root folder... It sounds like, to me, you're trying to do this: /public_html/ /blog (alias, points to /wordpress/) /public_ftp/ /wordpress/ Which I can't fathom why. I mean, why not just do /public_html/blog/ from the get go? And from a quick glance at my site, it has the trailing / in there. So I'm confused what you're trying to do and why...

Would this be a kind of IP address banning system? Because, otherwise I can't really see a feasible way of judging if this is the same person. Unless of course he/she is stupid enough to register with exactly the same details every time :P

Try to delete all the files and upload them again. Sounds like something went wront during the upload process.

You mean on the admin side of things? You should be able to create admin themes: http://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_Admin_Themes Never done it myself, mind :)

In the bottom right of the plugin page for this plugin you'll see "See what others are saying..." If you post a topic there, if the topic has not come up before, then your topic will automatically fall under the plugin category. You have a better change of somebody seeing your question there, including the plugin author. Hope it helps. :-)
