WP 2.9 does allow tags. Have you tried: - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s). - switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

You mention two things that the current wiki article doesn't state: Because it's my first hand knowledge and experiences with WordPress, and this and other support sites, that lead me to those conclusions. I think it's a perfect example of why a wikipedia article (just my opinion) should never be considered authoritative in nature. If these could be quantified, I believe they will be of great value to that article (and to the...

ClaytonJames Almost all software lets you know when it collects data on you and send it to the developer. Those that don't get scolded. I for one wouldn't make software that collects data and send its without informing my user, neither public or private data. Its just bad business practice. NetworkGeek There was no such argument. So whos attacking a straw man? My standpoint has been the same from the start, disclosure and make the...

I wish WP forums would add an email alert but at least this is a decent workaround. I'm hoping there is a plugin I can use in my own forum when I get it setup. Have not investigated that yet...

Continously or once every x minutes? Could be the Autosave function. Search the forum for Autosave; there is a way to lengthen the interval.

We want to allow our users to login to our site and then be able to create their own blog and post to that blog without having to login twice. With that being said I've installed WordPressMU and am looking into Plug-Ins and possibly and XMLRPC as a solution.

Ok, it looks like when MU creates a new blog, it puts in the default "Hello World" post. Seems he wants the new blog to either have a different default message or no default message when they are created. Not having WPMU I don't know which file to hack for that. Anyone else?

Hi there,
I just noticed some errors on my wordpress blog: links, tags, and categories vanished. However, when writing a new post, if I click on 'Most Used Categories', the categories show up. Also, when I tried to add new categories, it tells me that a category with the same name already exists.
After digging through the forums I found out that in some cases it seems that the missing items ...

Are you sure that you have completely cleaned all files? Most hackers will leave an unobtrusive backdoor somewhere that enables them to regain access to your site. Try working through these resources:

My company has built a website
And what application or CMS was used to do this?
We would like to allow the users to use their username and password (from our website) to login to their existing Wordpress blogs - whether the blog is co-hosted or one they have installed themselves under their own domain name.
Perhaps you could elaborate on this. Don't understand why you say you would ...

Don't look in the files, look in your WP admin.
The first post you can simply delete or edit by going to "posts" and "edit".
The "just another..." eh, what does it say there? Will probably be under "settings" "general" next to "tagline".

Not able to upload images from browser or flash upload.
Are you hosted on a Linux or Windows server?
Now this, has anyone heard of it?
Yes. It was fixed in 2.8.6 as far as I recall. Try upgrading.

A cursory glance at that article suggests that the synopsis of vulnerabilities is not necessarily inaccurate. I didn't really see anything I could enthusiastically disagree with right off the bat.
That doesn't have to be a bad thing though!
In fact, I think that you will find it reasonably safe to state that "all" blogging and CMS platforms have suffered from vulnerabilities throughout...

It's a small graphic that's inserted as part of your WP-Stats. Since you're using wordpress.com, you're pretty much stuck with it unless you want to pay for the CSS customisation option.
