Do you really, really like climbing a twisty mountain road? If so, you could visit the Ridge winery at the top of Montebello Road. Yes, that's where Montebello Cab grows. And the views are spectacular. Here's a link that may give you some ideas. http://www.scmwa.com/wineries.htm There's a nice group tasting room in Saratoga. I
forget the name, but it's on Big Basin Way and the business ...

Olive Festival. February/March, I think. Summer Jazz in Sonoma. Great lineup of artists, and some nice events. Tuesday evenings in Sonoma Plaza,
Farmer's Market. Unfortunately, the popular Stuart Yaniger Naked Hot Tub Party has been postponed indefinitely, since we moved and made sure Stuart couldn't find our forwarding address anywhere.

One day, when I'm not in such an all-fired hurry, I'm going to have to do every byway in the Sonoma Valley. I found Loxton and Wellington a couple of years ago - if you find one, you found the other, they're right next door to each other as
wineries go. John

Two we particularly enjoyed on the west side of Paso were
Tablas Creek and Adelaida. Hope you have a great time!

We were very impressed with our visit and the wines at Alpha Omega..tasted at Bennet Lane b, liked their wine but did not find their wines bordeauxlike..I think the best "Tuscan " type wines in Northern Cal are being made in
Sonoma, not Napa..If you get a chance and are interested in Cal-Ital, , wd visit Unti and Seghesio,, both in the Healdsburg area.

Pat Hopefully Sue & Neil Courtney will chime in - they're likely to be a massive help, not just with their own local advice, but also potentially with other contacts. I'm not sure if any vineyard work will be available - way too early for harvest, though I suspect there will be plenty of
fruit picking opportunities out there. They should have a great time out there, in what is often a very ...

Mark: I applaud you on both your fondness for
Valpolicella, Amarone, and Ripasso, and for your choice of the Verona area. Boy, are you gonna have fun. I won't recco specific wineries, although I will highly, highly recco visiting the small town of Fumane in Valpolicella. And specifically to visit the Enoteca della Valpolicella. You'll find the info here. http://www.valpolicella.it The ...
