Hmmm...I just replied to my original topic saying that "with the current situation, I can say that my laptop is clean" so going back to my original question: Is it possible to just install WIndows 7? Topic title was answer (Bluescreen before combofix finishes) because the culprit was the xxx.sys file. I just went thru to that .sys file before. I think it was the cause of why MBAM, ComboFix and some of my programs are not...

Good news: Computer is starting up much faster and seems to be operating well. MS updates are now installing. Bad news: Operations that remain to fail are scandisk utility and defrag. I tell scandisk to run on restart and it does not. Defrag analyzes and tells me that I need to defrag but when I click on "defrag now" it returns to "your file system can be improved by defraging" after only a second of...

I'm having trouble with a report from Dr. Web. I've run through the instructions twice to make sure I didn't make a mistake, but I've got the same error message both times. Express and complete scan do not show any viruses. When the program is complete, the bottom status says Done - no viruses. A pop up asks if I want to scan another floppy. The option to select Save Report> under File is grayed out. I did a search...

Hello everyone, i woke up this morning a bit dazed and went to my laptop, saw msn pluslive needed updating (or what i thought was) installed it and now i have this iexplorer.exe virus which keeps 2 iexplorer processes open running at not alot of memory, also i get annoying popups and it is rather irritating to say the least. I did a DDS scan and these are the results

Hello
I have a brand-new computer that is producing the IE error:
"Error: (login): 0x10e0 The operator or administrator has refused the request"
On searching, it seems that this error is malware-related, however I have run three different anti-malware/spyware programs and it is still occurring. I will post the results from those scans.
