Thank you, Steve. This has fixed the problem with Outlook. Appreciate the clarification. It had looked fine to me because it said "Temporary Internet Files" at the end, which is what I read it should have there... or I thought so anyway. Really really appreciate your help. Take care and have a wonderful week. JN

Outlook sending multiple copies...
Published (2009-12-13 22:39:00)
I finally was able to start deleting items, and the problem went away. As suggested, the Outlook PST file had reached it's limit 1.83GB. I tried to modify the file with the 6MB attachment in my out box, bu deleting the attachment, and then deleting the recipients. Finally when I tried to save it, I got an reeoe message saying the files had reached their limits, and I had to delete files using Shift-Delete to free up space. I did that,...

sp3851, thanks. Actually, I tried that method first off but it didn't seem to work. Maybe there's a problem with OE on the XPP machine I used to test the file, as I've used it for some earlier experimentation. Maybe I should create a new identity in that OE and try it again. Cheers :-)

The most common cause for this problem is a security setting in Outlook Express. Check under the Tools -> Options menu, and click on the Security tab. There is a check box that reads Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus. Uncheck that box and try to re-open the message. You should be able to view the attachement. You may also want to try IrfanView - it is free and can be dowloaded from:...

Outlook 2003 32000+ contacts?
Published (2009-12-19 10:10:00)
I renamed it. The autocomplete list went away only in the sense that when I address an email, it doesn't show up. However, when I click on Contacts in Outlook, it still shows that I have 37000+ "items." So the problem is still there and growing, since every time I add a new contact, it adds to the pile of "items." Any further suggestions? Thanks!

Can I use OE with a wireless modem?

I'm sure this is not the first time this has come up but I could not find the answer searching the knowledge base here. Using XP SP2 and OE 6.29. Just went from dial-up to the only high speed option available besides satellite. It is a starcom UM175 CDMA wirless modem and US Cellular. The math works out to 40 times faster per speedtest.net. I was told my only email option is using a web based one ie: gmail, yahoo. I really like the...

I assume you mean 'Attach Item'? - what you see is correct. Attaching folders Quote: You can’t. A folder isn’t a file so it can’t be attached. What you can do is compressing the folder so it will create a zip-file. You can then attach the zip-file and send it. I trust 'you can't' is sufficiently non technical

When I click on Contact, at the bottom of my Outlook window, it shows 32,787 "items". What does this mean? When I click on Contacts or click on To to address an email, my contact list shows 27 contacts. However, if I just start typing a name in the To box, a list pops up showing many more contacts that I can't access. When I try to click on them, the box disappears. Why can't I get to these ...

Welcome to WindowsBBS It would be interesting to know what size your PST file is...If it's close to or over 2gigs in size - you'll need to delete a lot of stuff. Do the emails that are stuck have any large file attachments?
