Karyn, it would be beyond extraordinary if it took 2 months to repair your powerchair. My understanding is that your powerchair hasn't yet been diagnosed, but even a major problem, like needing a motor, is often handled in within two weeks or so. Different insurers have different policies, but Medicare is a widely-used example, and is fairly representative of how repair billing works. So, please allow me to discuss that repair approval...

Karyn, spindle is an axle (by default) without the keyway. The axle is the metal rod that exits the motor/gear assembly. The drive wheels fit over the axle and are locked in place with the "keyway" , lock washer and wheel nut. Please keep Mark Smith's advised with your progress. Best Wishes

I went ahead and called the vender but they can't come for at least 1-1 1/2 weeks. Thats certainly better than a month or more but its got me nervous about how much I can do with the chair. I don't want to get us stranded. I was told its definitely just coming from the right side. I'm going to try and see if I can get any more debris cleaned off it this weekend. I did just clean it yesterday but ...

Bummer!! I've been trying to make an appointment with the MDA clinic at OHSU in Portland, OR to see if they can help me with the purchase of a power chair. I just get a voicemail when I call. I don't know what's going on. Looks like I'll surely miss out now...

(lol) you are probably to young, I'm guessing by your avatar, to remember
the old rayon tires on cars they used to do that when just sitting over
night. When you started out they would go bump, bump, bump until they got
warmed up enough to get round again. Anyway that is what goes on with them.
I have that happen to my chair, I have foam fills. I get it about a 2 or 3
day span. I have a Bounder ...

Some will disagree with me, but I just don't see it as an important enough
battle. I'd bet that Disney is worried about a lawsuit if he gets jostled
(how stable is an IBOT?) or if his computer fails.

The holidays have became more rough for me over the last few years because I have had all 6 of my remaining relatives pass in that period so these days I find myself with no one to talk to about family or Personal stuff I have friends but there are some things that you need a closer relationship to discuss. Also the holidays for me are rough because we used to gather at grandmas or mom's ...

I put my grocerys on the back of my seat. Either side of the seat on the hand post that stick up. I balance the weight. If I have to I will loop them on my arm rests. IF I have to carry my eggs and bread (crushables) I put them on my seat belt and they will hang in front of me. I can even carry a case of soda on the side of me in the seat. I take a list. What I did not get the first time, I ...

I'm not sure about your physical abilities so will mention a thought I had. Can you lower the armrest while at your desk so you can get under it. Other options are of course to raise the desk but my experience with raising desks is that they lead to issues with carpal tunnel if you are not careful with wrist positioning, but this raising of desks can be done just with wood or bricks I have never...

I can attest that the Quickie GPV is rock solid and there is no weakness inherent to this design. Optimal rear wheel camber is 3 to 4 degrees. Wheelbase depends on user preference. Typically, short wheelbase will be easy to wheelie. Long wheelbase will be more stable. I prefer footrest angle of 95 degrees to keep overall length short as possible. Seat to floor height, seat depth, and seat angle (...
