Put two and two together and yesterday spent about four very happy hours doing the drawings below. This is sheet draped over edge of table. This is sheet wraped around a dear, kind and accomodating husband. top one is pillow slip, second one is draped towel. ...

Hi, I am new and I live far away from almost all of you. Please forget my english. I am a biochemistry and I have an absolute fascination for drawing human faces. I have a question and I have searched the answer on all the web but I didn`t suceed: What are the planes of the face? How do I draw them? The same to the human figure. Here is when I get so confussed: some teachers or ...

March 5 to 18 Hi everyone and welcome to the dust bin. I’m so thrilled that you that you’re about to discover what I refer to as the “Chocolate” of the painting mediums. I’ve used pastel for over 30 years and it’s still my favorite. There are as many methods of applying this medium as there are brands of pastel. I’m sure you’ve discovered as much if you haunt the ...

Hi Alison! The only comment is that it is hard to distinguish much where the light source is. Perhaps do some more darks-by layering-a soft pencil is not the only way to get DARK -in fact the danger of smudging becomes worse the softer the lead. Also some lifting w/ putty if needed to show the side in the light. Perhaps though IRL the contrast is stronger-if so-ignore me. Nice work!...

Alison, wonderful work on the bike thing and the bottle! I've decided to move on from the spheres class, though I know there's still more I need to learn there....These are conical objects, an ice cream cone, a church steeple, a tree...I'm working on the bike thingy, but I can tell that needs more work!

Hi Stacey! Thanks - what you said helped, because I took a step back and looked longand hard at the values. Everything seemed a bit too close, so I gave up onmy idea of going no softer than 2b and attacked it with a 4b and 6b on thedarks. I was terrified of the folds initially, didn't have a clue what Iwas doing, but enjoyed it by the end! Here it is...Alison2

I couldn't progress much on my Class 13 assignment, so I did this class. I'm a bit apprehensive posting here 2 years after the last post but thought I'd try my luck . I'm sorry for the glare - in RL, the BG at left is as dark as the right. The weird thing is that the values on the left side of the jar is not that much different than RL (at least on my monitor). My questions: the...
