I have really enjoyed these, I find the second one exciting, I like the controlled randomness about them. Nice combination of colours too. I often do the same, put stuff away for while, some I am not sure even if I like, then when I pull them out I am often surprised that I did them! Love to see more of your ink experiments, I am working at the moment with inks to, following Randys recipe, shall post anything worthwhile that comes up. Gal

Every painting doesn't have to have a face. This way the viewer can supply in his own mind the face he would like. Great piece. Just leave it.

I took it as a fairly literal symbol of the man not communicating and interpreted frustration on the woman's face. Think it works great.

I like this painting, it looks like a field of white flowers - a nice spring feeling to it.

Thanks so much Clem. One of the things that draws me to encaustics is the translucency.

Looks like those spinner T-shirt pieces the Hippies did back in the 60's! Don't think you're after that effect but if you want to keep the design you may need to color in the white areas that stop the piece from moving. anthony

Wow, love the second one in particular. The only thing that doesn't quite work for me on that one are the reddish (orange?) small bars on the right side. I don't know if muting/darkening them a bit would make a difference. For me they are a little too stark or maybe even harsh given the rest of the piece. But I love the colors and the overall composition. That's a great piece. I also like ...

Hi! No need to apologize. I find the non-face irresistable. I don't think you should change it. Your wipe out efforts led you to this no-face, and I believe your subconscious was leading you to that solution. Good work, and keep it up.

I think they work...good vibrant colors, nice path-through with the darks, good variation of width of the dark line to keep the painting moving and interesting. As for seperate or together, I think you would need to keep them seperate. Both of these faces "appear" to be looking in the same direction... if they had been looking in diff directions you could have put them together as a diptych and ...

Not bad. You begin a very good cascade at the top of the piece that unfortunately peters out at the bottom third. Adding more blue marks might either bring that part forward or push it back adding movement that the piece needs to keep it alive. anthony

Nice color, but despite the windmill you've stuck in the center this is not even close to looking like the Netherlands. Look at some of the Dutch master paintings and you'll see why. Here's a hint: remember the story of the little boy who stuck his finger in the dike--why'd he do that? anthony
