( i lived on chicken broth, SF popcicles, refried beans, cottage cheese, for a little while. you can make a nice eggdrop soup from a cup of broth, an egg, a dash of soy sauce, and a sprinke of chives or super thin sliced mushrooms if you want to get fancy, i made that when i needed some more variety. and, of course, lots of protein drinks! i did find the taste of water was really foul and metallic immediately post-op and i still hvae...

( My meals are generally about 8 to 10 ounces of total food. If it's heavier in dense meat the total meal will be less. Generally I do about 4-5oz of meat, then a side of veggie that's about 1/2 to 3/4c. When I order a salad from McDonalds, I can eat all the grilled chicken plus all the "good" greens \(meaning I pick out the crappy white core stuff\). Our pouch grows over time. ( In the summer I am in love with peeled cucumbers... they're wonderful! I come home from summer school, peel the cucumber, rub the peelings over my face and arms, eat half the cucumber. super scrumptuous. In the winter NSA hot cocoa with SF caramel syrup... yum. It's all about temperature. I don't like to be hot, and I don't like to be cold. I think my biggest thing, that gets me through the work day, is protein...

( I had a scary, scary night last night. All weekend long le grande diva had a high fever - up to 103.6 at some points. She had a bad headache, leg aches and her stomach hurt when she tried to take in liquids. We were all ready to pack up and go to the ER last night but the doctor's office asked us not to do that yet. They said they have too many severe h1n1 cases in there and he didn't want ...

congratulations on your success so far. i understand the concerns and feelings you have about privacy, and facebook can be either a great tool or a great big pain.
Have you considered either blocking this goofball, or making comments to you private only to you? that won't affect his ability to write ABOUT you, but you can block him and not see that.
One of the biggest stressors my ...

( I am sure ladies experience this alot when having surgeries. You are not having a hysterectomy so it should be okay. Just be sure to let the nurse know when they sign you in the hospital. You may need some assistance with hygiene following surgery. Welcome to hte new phase in your life. Good luck! ,)

I'm sorry to hear that you've had these complications. Its weird though, a friend of mine's mother had the bypass surgery and she was like a size 18 but here insurance wouldn't pay for a band. She is hoping that she will not go past a size 12 but I'm thinking that she will. She will definitely need to figure out how to stop losing after a while.

( I haven't lost anything for about 3 months. I go back and forth with 2 lbs. People have told me to cut bad carbs which I have and to increase protein.

( Dumping is what happens when you ingest too much sugar/fat for your body's tolerance...it's from the excess sugar/fat. It results in palpitations, GI effects, etc. Dumping usually occurs pretty soon after ingesting the food. There is no low blood sugar associated with this. Dumping is the result of weight loss surgery that eliminates or bypasses our pyloric valve. Food \(and therefore, the ...

( Honey, I'm sorry you are going through this. I'm just glad you are taking steps to work through it.
Transfer addictions are very common after surgery because the reason for the old addiction doesn't disappear, just the ability to feed the addiction changes. I've seen and heard of this happening to many people in my life who have had this surgery and it terrifies me. My ex is one ...

( No, it is not.
What I got from it is she had the old 'stomach stappling' surgery, the RNY they do today if vastly different and improved. Plus it seems all her problems stemmed from staying on the Atkins Diet all those years. That's what caused her problems more than the surgery. If you research the Atkins Diet you'll find lots of similar horror stories. ,)

( You know, I"m not sure why, but for some reason today's weight just knocked me for a loop.
This morning I woke up and I was officially 159 lbs. That's 191 pounds down from my maximum. The last time I was in the 150's \(or 160's or 170's or 180's or 190's\) I was 15 years old. I've been dropping weight like crazy the last week or so due to 6 weeks of being very ill, and not eating hardly ...
