( Yeah, I was thinking about you this morning. Glad to hear you're home and doing great. Good luck tomorrow at dinner. Just park it and take it easy. It's hard to be waited on hand and foot but you have to let them in order for your new band buddy to heal. Congratulations and welcome to the bench! ,)

I am thankful for my approval!

( Congrats on the approval! Does your surgeon's office have a Nutritionist? I was given a huge folder with tons of info, sample menus of what to eat in each phase of the diet, pre and post op. I can call or e-mail the Nutritionist with questions also. It's really important that you can get your questions answered by your surgeon's office. ,)

( I heart you Lisa..and I loved your post. But I am so going to wing it! LOL. I have worked so hard for the last year. I work out religiously 6-7 days a week and watch everything that goes into my mouth. For 1 day...I'm going to pretend I'm a normal healthy, thin person. I'll concentrate on the turkey and veggies first..but I will eat some pie and drink some wine. Then, Friday I'll be back at it. -Nikki ,)

I see parallels to diabetes in morbid obesity. Diabetics have a metabolic disorder. If they choose to skip insulin shots, eat sweets, and otherwise ignore the treatment recommendations of their docs, they will die younger than they have to. Same with us.
I think you're reacting to the stereotype of fat people as wilful gluttons who choose to eat everything in sight. That's similar to...

( When I was in for my last fill I had an upper GI first and the radiologist went over the films with me. When I saw the surgeon I asked her if the "tunnel" was too narrow and to explain to me if it is too narrow how come I could eat so much. She explained that what they see in the xray is NOT what they go by. The narrowness of that "tunnel" is not used by them to determine your restriction. ...

I don't want to scare you but if my memory is correct it could mean a slipped band. The other thing that comes to mind is theh question of whether his port or tubing come apart from the band and leak very quickly.
Hopefully someone who has had a similar experience will speak up soon and I give him a lot of credit for only gaining 12 lb. If I lost all restriction I am sure I would be ...

( Tonya,
I must be reading your post wrong.
Can it possibly be true that you have only lost a total of 12 lbs since surgery?
That is unbelieveable!!!! Did you lose more and the net is only twelve because you gained back or am I missing something.
Why don't you jump on with us that just recently got banded on the twenty third and go come back to square one with us.
Are...

Happy Slapsgiving to you too! (Love it!)
My biggest fan is no doubt my hubby. He loves me unconditionally and is always there! He's my coach and my cheerleader. He pushes me when I have a morning when I don't want to get out and go exercise, but he also is the first to say "stay home" when I'm sick or hurting. (He always seems to know when I need a nudge and when I need a hug!) I got...

2. Play with the kids.
3. Be the driver as my fiance and I try to do the 2 family dinners thing.
4. Probably play a few drinking games (a family holiday tradition).
5. Hopefully have sex with my fiance when the day is over, LOL! I'm joking around.
