hitting herself - Parenting:...

Replying to: hitting herself Nay does it. When he gets REALLY mad, he lays down on the floor and smacks his head against it. Then cries because it hurts. Duh, it hurts, silly! I just tell him not to hit himself, or hit his head on the floor. It's owies. Then I give him a hug to try and calm him down. Sometimes, I just have to let him lay there and settle himself down. I sure hope it stops soon. I'm tired of the looks I get when he...

Replying to: OT: What about ... Ugh!! How 'bout them??? The Phillies just didn't show up to play like they can. It also disgusted me to hear the announcers say that 3 players, CC and 2 others, cost the Yankees about $425 million!! Ridiculous!!! We pay teachers $30K and baseball players hundreds of millions of dollars. No one needs to make that kind of money. Makes me sad!! The Yankees may World Champions but the Phillies will always...

Replying to: OT: What about ... It is the free market that our country was built on. Yes sports stars make insane amounts of money. But we (or people like us) are paying their salaries. It's supply and demand. Very few atheletes can play like that, so very few make that much $. But then that wasn't really the point of the original post. This post was only out of fun. The Yankees, IMO, ARE baseball regardless of Chase Utley's...

Just a few remienders for when people call in to call centers for support or customer service.... 1. the rep on the phone is there to help you so yelling swaring and calling the rep names will not in anyway help your case. 2.You are calling them for help so dont talk down to them like their stupid they do their jobs day in and day out and for the most part know what they are doing. (there are always exceptions to this). 3. last but not least...

Replying to: OT: What about ... Congrats, Lynn! My DH is a fan, too. Of course, I have to tease him (and you) with this. It's outdated at this point but along with the $$$ theme: http://www.theonion.com/content/node/27656 I have considered major league sports salaries to be an annoying flaw of capitalism.

brushing teeth - Parenting:...
Published (2009-11-06 11:03:15)
DS is going through a phase the last month or so where he doesn't want to let me brush is teeth. He will suck the toothpaste off and if I'm lucky I get a couple of swipes over his teeth before he clamps them shut. My pedi says it's not a huge deal and he will come around again. He used to be great he'd go get his stool and grab his tooth brush and everything. The only reason I am a little concerned is he drinks milk late....

Replying to: Work Vent and Remiender. I will have to say, while I have never cursed at someone, Im sure I have raised my voice. Why? Because the rep was soooooo rude and complacent that I couldnt resolve anything. I will also say that most of the time when that happens I end up having to talk to a supervisor that i am certian is just the rep sitting right next to the other one. I couldnt do your job either. on top of the already legitimate...

The who? Seriously, I would feel the same way if the Phillies won. Good for them. Love 'em or hate 'em it still takes some serious talent and skills to win the World Series or Super Bowl or Stanley Cup or whatever.

Sorry you have to deal with that. What I have found helps when I'm annoyed is to say to the poor rep on the other side of the phone, "I want to make it clear that I know this is not personally your fault, and I'm just venting about your company." I can feel them relax instantly, and it often makes them more inclined to agree with me. Then I can go ...

I hate leaves, we have 2 HUGE trees that are on the neighbors property right next to our yard and of course we have to rake the leaves up, millions I tell ya. Then we have a smaller tree in our yard on the other side of our house. It stinks, and I hate raking. At our new house (which I doubt we will ever move to at this rate), there were 3 trees and a bunch of ...

AWWW, that stinks!! I hope the kiddos feel better and if you had/have a sitter lined up for when the shower was I would still go!! Even if all you do is sit in your car! You need and deserve a break! I am a night solo mom now too so I totally get the need to run from the house screaming!

errr... I have been wanting him off of this for quite some time now being that he will turn two in January, but he only has it at night. I have tried giving him those training cups, but he will realize it's not the bottle and pitch a fit. I know I just should throw the darn thing in the trash and not look back. It's hard too because he stays at home all day with his dad, who gives it to him ...

DD has been in the habit the last 3 days of hitting herself, pulling her hair and even trying to claw her face when she is upset and/or tired. It seems I read something about this a while back but didn't pay to much attention since it wasn't an issue then. How common is this? And what is the best way to handle it?? For now, I just ignore it completely and try to distract her but it isn't ...

I think you can still use iTunes without having an iPod. You can put all your music on there. I mean ALL of it, then get rid of the cds. You can use it to make playlists to listen to and burn to cds.

Oh, Mama... That's a lot to deal with. I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. I'm dreading the tween stage. I say, leave the DH at home and go do something you want to do. Get a book and go to Starbucks. Have a nice latte while you read. It's cheap and relaxing. Or, take a bubble bath. Just relax, take some time for yourself. (((HUGS)))...

Just a thought, but do you think he might be worn out from the time change last weekend? I know that my boys both lost a bit of sleep with it - they were waking up at their normal times but of course it seemed like they were waking an hour earlier, and then I had to keep them up "later" on their internal clocks. By mid-week, we were all a bunch of cranky messes. I ...

It's not the laundry that really bothers me. It's the fact that these supposedly super diapers don't absorb as much as they "should". I don't like that the wetness is sitting on his skin all night. Though, this morning he was fine. Who knows.
