Replying to: Overdo$e America That's a great book, EG. I'm 3/4 through it. I heard Dr. Abramson actually quit practicing & wrote it out of frustration with the way medicine is practiced. The chapter about statins is a real eye opener. I also have one of his lectures on DVD titled "Pushing Statins." I had suspicions about the way drugs are prescribed but now I have a clear, detailed understanding of the way clinical...

Replying to: Irregular Heartbeat Your fever and pain means a trip to the ER is necessary....especially with high blood pressure. It may not be your heart but it could be. Never bring these things to a message board-we are here to help but in no real position to advise you properly. Call your doctor-the on call doctor should be available for this type of question or go to the ER immediately. Let us know how you are doing.

Replying to: too few calories?? Thanks everyone, for your input. I really appreciate having some help from people who understand what I'm trying to do. You have all given words of encouragement as well as good advice. I have read many other posts here as well, trying to learn all I can. I feel enlightened by Dr. Furhman and want to stay with this. I have been confused over the several years I've tried to lose weight: should it be...

Replying to: too few calories?? Crystal: Eat healthy. To continue to lose weight, cut back a little more on what you eat, and add a little more activity. The easiest place to cut back is usually protein. About 3 ounces a meal is all anyone needs. Find active activities and exercise you can do for long periods, and be patient. Report back periodically as you succeed.

I have been taking 25 mg of Atenol for tachycardia, and 20 mg of Benicar for HBP for over 8 yrs. My normal heart rate is 65 - 75. I have been hospitalized on 4 occasions for elevated heart rates (161 - 180) Question: for the past 3 days I have been experiencing chronic fatigue, stomach pains, shortness of breath, sweats, a low grade headache and fever of 101- 102, pains, nausea and a wrenching pain in the lower abdomen when I try to eat, loss...

Crystal: Eating between 700 - 800 calories may not be healthy. That is very low. Weight loss needs to be a sustained process over many months (and sometimes years) to achieve a healthy weight. For the record, I am neither a Fuhrman or Ornish follower. Just someone who lost 90 pounds. I believe you should seek the advice of a registered dietitian and ...

Hi folks, jc just posted this link on the Debate website. Thanks, jc. This link is a validation of what Dr. Fuhrman has been recommending for years. Thanks, EG, for this thoughtful and interesting post. I am in awe of how on top of the literature you are. I'm much more intellectually lazy; I did some research for the first year or so I was on the Reversal Program, but don't pay too much attention anymore. I just think that if I stick with the program, good things will continue to happen. Plus I totally love...
