I have the desktop and it does what most people need it for checking emails,documents,burning cds/dvds, listening to music, watching movies etc. If you got a place to purchase from go ahead but buying from newegg or tigerdirect are your two best bet ..good luck. just to add the system is VERY quiet...

I can suggest that you must use an external media like cd's for back up and then lock it and don't give that to anyone who is a techie person because they tend to access it.

Yea.... that was a huge mess.... unnecessarily issue to include all browsers in Windows OS. Their recent releases has been stable and good. I did not switch, but have not removed... which i often of their previous releases.

I've never had any intrusions get beyond the NAT firewall in my Linksys as far as I know, but I still run firewalls inside the network. It's not worth risking, IMHO.

I'd recommend windows 7. I've installed it on both my desktop and laptop. Works great without any problem, runs faster and smoother than vista.

Depends if you are a developer or not. If you are, then yes 64bit is your friend. It not, stick with legacy 32bit.
