Hi Blowed up sir cute screen name, i love your can do attitude but to be realistic, its not worth it, but you will have a lot of fun rewinding motors i bet http://www.wattflyer.com/forums/foru...aysprune=&f=88 if you have a 72 mhz radio, get a Berg receiver for it, they are the best of the best, its like having a 2.4 radio, only better IMHO, no brown out issues, no short range issues, no masking issues, I like the 4L receiver for small...

It just needs to run at 11,000 so we can test the propeller all the way down. This is being done to test and we would like to obtain data to show how well or poorly the prop will perform at various advance ratios which is a function of incoming air velocity, rpm, and propeller diameter. We have chosen a 15" prob because of results of blade element theory. It is the largest prop our power plant should be able to spin. It is going on a...

Sounds like fun. Are you doing a design-build-fly for school? I start my capstone sequence next semester and will probably be doing something similar. You might have trouble getting your .15's to swing a 15" prop. How much is the plane going to weigh?

I would check all the solder connections at ESC/motor, probably bullet connectors. They might not be able to pass the higher amperage. Of course, there could be something physicaly stopping the motor, such as a screw or somthing got sucked into the magnets. I have seen this before and it wound up being the motor/ESC connections. You came to the right place. Welcome aboard!
I am assuming the ...

You really need to measure the battery voltage while the motor is running to know for sure, but what you describe sounds like a failing battery.

I had one of these, used the spectrum 1gram rx, and 2.5g servos and a 2cell 200mah pack... but made the mistake of putting the airbrake/fences on it and trying to fly it outdoors, it wouldn't move forward (into wind) but went pretty quick away (with wind)... basically got chewed up a couple times landing.. and moved the gear over to a scratchbuilt mig-29 with a dif motor...

An increase in either dimension corresponds to increase in the size of the magnetic flux pathways inside the motor and, in general, an increase in torque producing capability. And increase in torque, at the same RPM, is an increase in mechanical power.
Note, however, that power handling capability is also affected by the size of the wire and the heat handling capability of its insulation. ...

It does sound like a lipo issue. Best way to check would be a wattmeter where you can see what the battery is doing.
Without that, borrow or buy a new lipo and try it.
If you keep your lipos charged all the time and they get stored in a warm spot a fair amount (hot garage, car) this will increase the internal resistance and performance will drop markedly, even with no use. Flying to LVC ...

It will certainly make the motor work harder. A Wattmeter would be critical to make sure you are not overdoing it.
Why would you want to though? I swing a 14x10e on my shoestring and a 20" Electric on my Waco. They perform just as good for the application.
