Looks like I will be going down to Maryland this weekend and I think I will bring the TM along and maiden there with my dad who learned to fly in the real thing, hist training was in a TM also with a silver finish! Just need to install the gear strut fairings and replace my temporary fin markings: After doing a little research on marking and placement I noticed that most Moths with markings similar to the ones that come with the kit have the...

Looks great TM and hope the weather is good for you. That should be pretty neat your father gets to watch you maiden the TM. Your dad should enjoy the flight, and sure it will stir up some memories for him. Maybe you should let him take it up since he has stick time behind the real deal. then report back on how the flight went. Good luck John

To kinda level the playing field, we insist on the stock motor and prop, and only a 3-cell battery. With a Power 10 motor, these things are -awesome-! At this race, a guy with lots of fast pylon experience seldom got above 10 feet during his heats, and actually bounced off the ground on a downwind pass!

I pulled a good one this afternoon! I took off(from my street)with what I thought was a fully charged pack.. It wasn't! I had just cleared the first set of trees, and the minimum votage cutoff did it's job! The model went down out of sight and touched down straight and level without hitting anything! Time to go buy a lottery ticket! Randy

It is quite possible that you have come across a poor sim example of this plane.

ok, so I have made a somewhat list of what I am going to use... for servos I am going to use the Hitec (best... brand... EVER!!) HS-81, I already have two... I just need to buy one more... (thanks, NUTs for the servos... and burning out the third one on his spit ) and I will probably go with this inrunner, because the plans call for a brushed 400 speed... and sense the plane was designed around it, its just easier to get an inrunner rather...

Wow, looks like a nice plane. I've been wanting to get a conventional geared plane and was looking at the T-28 but really wanted it to be balsa and this looks like the answer. The video shows all the options like the V-tail and also a good shot of how the whole top half of the plane is removable for access. I want, I want

Too much power being taken from the battery, or it got hot, or too much of a charge put into a hot battery.. They pooch like that. This E-flite battery pooched overnight. It was discharged to zero volts by running that motor, then the leads cut off and the battery disposed of. . And they do "vent with flames"! Charge outside on something not flammable!

If the lights were on a totally different system and it did that then the RX/ESC probably went bonkers. Had nothing to do with the lipo if you pulled the jumper. All the jumper does is change the low voltage cut-off to be appropriate for lipo. Unfortunately these are not high quality electronics. I've noticed a pretty high failure rate on the RX/ESC in the last few months. I think a poor ...

Spitfire, First, Welcome to WattFlyer!! It's always good to see new folks. Secondly, things are pretty relaxed around here. So if your Spitfire is a parkflyer (smaller wingspan, not really fast, doesn't require a lot of room, etc) then sure this is the right place. But if you are really into the details and are building a scale plane, then maybe the WarBirds forum might be best. If ...

Mini Pulse XT (currently my top pick) Mini Ultra Stick Either are excellent planes. If you would like to go bigger, and eflight Eratix is impressive. I love watching Newjak fly his. You would not be happy with the Parkzone T28 at this point. You are beyond it. It's an excellent bird, but you may find it lathargic compared to the experience you already have.

Looks nice Frank I've built the Cessna 180, Dandy, Dandy sport, Hellcat and Tyro from mountain models. The Tyro and Hellcat are actually designed by Molt Models, but mountain models kits and sells them. My hellcat was slightly modified, in that I added 15" to the wingspan (the kit was only used for plans...) The Tyro is for aerial photography with a pentax optio. -Steve

Just so you know, the STC ( http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...&page=11&pp =15 ) is a good beginner plane and very repairable and cheap, and the TrainerOne ( http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38 3687 ) is said to fly so slowly that its almost boring (ina good way, cuz it will help you learn to fly.) Sorry if you already bought the slowstick, and I have heard great thing about...
