slow stick headache remedies?!

Check for wing warp. Hold the wing and look straight down the centerline. Look left, look right. Make sure they have the same amount of lift from the front to the back of the wing ends. I had gotten one that was really warped. A hot air gun and bracing one side while twisting it worked only for a while. It would eventually return to the warp.

What is dihedral?

Ok, so dihedral is a good thing for the stability of the plane? That's what I'm understanding.

How do YOU pick your next plane?
Published (2009-11-11 12:45:00)
This sounds a lot like what goes through my head at times - so, are you renting a storage unit for planes, or what do you do with existing models as you add new ones? LOL! Well, Max, it does get crowded at times! But I have given planes away, especially after I try upgrading a particular type. When I got into more advanced gliders I gave my rudder/elevator ones to new flyers (except my favorite, an Olympic) and all my trainer planes were...

twin motors
Published (2009-11-09 15:58:00)
It is more than a click or two but probably wouldn't be a problem on take off. It's the landing when I would have to throttle back that one motor would stop before the other that I would run into difficulty. I will try getting a new Y connector first than maybe new escs. Thanks for input.

Yes, the United States is about free speech. I am as free to get defensive about your comments as you are to make them. Ain't it great? Quite frankly, I feel that of what few people actually noticed, far more found the plane-stomping incident amusing than offensive. People like it when the representatives from big companies act like real people instead of a bunch of aloof stuffed-shirts (i.e. "professional").

Favorite flight
Published (2009-11-09 19:00:00)
I had a wonderful flight this evening I live in somerset, in the country, and i had a beautiful flight at my local park. It was very cold, and it was getting dark (i could still see my heli), but the main thing that made it amazing was that it was getting really misty/foggy. And the helicopter look superb as it was flying through the fog. I flew a scale flight, and when i came in for a scale landing, it looked great because the heli was...

STOP!!!!
Before you go any further.
Just a word of caution. When soldering the Deans to your battery, NEVER remove the insulators from both wires at the same time. Solder one side on, shrink the heat tubing, THEN work on the other wire.
Ok, you can go back to what you were doing.

Good Luck!

For me, the decission has been very easy for the past year or so. The plane must be electric and must be a parkflyer size: large enough to handle some wind yet small enough to share the space in the trunk of my car with at least two other planes. It must be brushless and Lipo powered. I have batteries in three sizes: 1300; 1800; 2200; so it must use one of these. I've done balsa and won't do ...

Maybe you are just running out of trim. Make sure to set your transmitter trims to center (or zero), turn on your receiver (letting the surfaces go where ever they go) and then mechanically center your rudder and elevator. Now you should have plenty of trim left for rudder and elevator at the transmitter.

Hello Ray!.
I have flown RC since 50 years and tought a lot of people to fly RC. We had
not doule control then, so I had standing close to the back of the pupil
and push at his right fist to erect a dqngerous tilting model. When I first
tried the double control the model went in as both of us thought that the
other one waas in control. so ever since I used the stand behind approach!
I now is a ...

1 Be sure that the two controllers on on the same channel via a Y harness.
2 Double check the programming on the controllers, be sure they have the same settings.
Make sure the setups are as close to identical as possible. Same wire type, same wire runs, etc.

Go for it. It's better to have too much radio than not enough. You can comfortably move forward later in the future and not have to worry about buying another radio.

Some airplanes have dihedral, which is an upward angle between the wings, some have flat wings with no angle and some have anhedral, which is a downward angle between the wings.
It all affects the inherent stability of the airplane.
This is several examples of dihedral.

First post here, I'm the same IBrakeForNobody as on RCUniverse.com and a
few other forums. I mainly fly glow aircraft and electric and glow powered
RC cars and trucks, but I do fly electrics from time to time, and I'm
looking into buying an E-flite Tribute 3D.

That was one of the first books that I bought when I got into the hobby, back in '97. It certainly was very helpful in understanding how ( balsa) models should be designed and built for optimum performance. I know that one of our local model building legends, Ivan Pettigrew (see www.ivansplans.com/ ) corresponds regularly with Andy Lennon on building techniques. I have never built any of Andy's ...

Hi, The 2408-21 motor is a all around motor, that works well in combat planes, are you going to be using 2 or 3 cell lipos, that will determine your prop size and pitch, this is a great setup,
http://www.unitedhobbies.com/hobbyci...3.8_Prop_Co mbo
the 9x3.8 prop. should be used with a 2 cell only, 3 cell will be to much for it, a 8x4 or 7x6 GWS SF prop is better for 3 cells, i like 3 cells...

Last Summer I was flying my Bird of Time videoship at the school and enjoying the modest thermal lift, somewhere less than 400 ft AGL- then I hear it...
Over the school at less than 150' comes this twin turbo boxy cargo job- on final to a FedEx private strip nearby (on a seldom used path) and I turned away and dove at a right angle to his path, still well above him. Viewing the video later I ...
