Accuracy - Citizen, Seiko Quartz
Published (2009-11-10 08:38:00)
My Citizen Eco-Drive Calibre 2100 has proven to be an amazing performer in this area: As of now I have 3 radio controlled watches and one more coming my way next week (Citizen Skyhawk AT): Junghans Mega 1000 (German made): Citizen Chrono-Time AT Limited Edition BY0003-07E: Casio Waveceptor (not pictured) Outside of radio controlled movement, you have to step up to thermo-compensated HEQ movements, not available in the USA, that cost much more...

That\'s cool. I like that the hour and minute hands move independently of each other. The DIY pressure kit was interesting.

are you speaking about gold filled watches specifically or are you using the term as a synonym for any gold colored finish? The short answer to your question is yes, the finish can be removed quite easily. depending on how it was applied you can reverse plate it or blast it off. once removed the case needs to be refinished. The issue here is that depending on what that golden finish is and how it was applied, your case might or might not be...

The boiling water trick has always served me really well, and if were to use a Z20/22 in the future, I would definitely use that method again.

Cleaning a citizen bracelet
Published (2009-11-10 19:36:00)
I don\'t see why that would be a problem. They made this watch 200m WR. You could even swim and dive with it! There\'s probably no way to distroy a bracelet or watch just by cleaning it. I\'d rather say it\'s counterproductive to leave the abrasive dirt where it is right now. And that\'s not only for watches. If your bicycle chain is full of dirt you better get it clean, too! Cheers, Sebastian

Anvil bracelet question please help
Published (2009-11-10 08:09:00)
If you don\'t mind saying, how much did you pay on it? I\'m not going to get one now, but if I do get a Sumo I\'ll have to get an Anvil, so I better add the price of the bracelet to the overall final price of the watch.

I\'m with you nb, the date arch is a bit on the loud side. And the gold indices do look good against the black (I located some pics of your model online). I have a similar one, here it is (photo borrowed from OWS, and mine is still on the steel bracelet): And Mini, yes, it costs a bundle - I\'m wondering of the prices might come down on this one.

Hy everybody.I have a BL5345-59H Citizen watch. I recently discovered some dirt between the lugs of the bracelet. I wanted to start cleaning with a used toothbrush the excess dirt, but then i thought what if citizen uses some kind of oil for lubrification on the lugs.If i wash the lugs would they still be flexible? I wanted to ask you guys because i'm new to the field of watches .Thank you ....

I've been thinking about picking up a Seiko for some time (both a diver and a dressier watch). The first arrived today: a Seiko SNX111k
The one thing that really motivated this purchase was the decent contrast between the dial and hands/markers. I've been slobbering all over the recent threads on the white Orient dress watches...but felt, despite their beauty, that low-light visibility ...

Hi Guys I am keen on the BB for its clean look. But like some others here would like a conventional black chapter ring. It is an easy mod and I know some guys have done it but I would love to see a photo of the mod if anyone has one. This will help me decide whether I \'need\' another Seiko diver! Thanks Carlton

I have had my sumo for about 1 month now....I have been watching it carefully and it is approx 12 seconds fast in a 24 hour period..... I have tried setting it in a couple of positions on the dresser to no avail...is this about right for the 6R15? Thanks in advance...

Did Seiko use this movement on any model other than the Premier? Don't mind the notion of power reserve display, but would like to know if there are any other options for this movement. The hi-beat aspect really intrigues me.

While I agree with Toby that the bezel on the Frankenmonster is a bugger to turn, the rest not so much. The only thing I don\'t like on the watch as much is the plastic for the tick marks. Mine has the blue dial and I would rather the entire dial be blue-' + '- or Seiko could have at least made the palstic for the ticks blue instead of black-' + '- I don\'t like the contrast. Other than that, I ...

As explained by Jim Skelton: http://watchgeeks.net/showthread.php...ighlight=se iko Your comments? Here\'s mine: as I understand it, the supposed \'lower winding efficiency\' of the Seiko Magic Lever system is more an issue with people who leave their watches on winding machines rather than wear them. And the \'dead spot\' is compensated for by a sector of greater winding efficiency about ...

I love my 173. It\'s pretty much everything I always wanted in a watch. That said, I\'d like a bit more accuracy (tough that\'s a monir point) and maybe a upgrade in build. What I don\'t want is a bigger watch. The 173 is as big a diameter and as thick as I\'d like. Is there a logical upgrade I may not be considering? The Sumo is near perfect in all these respects (I love the looks) but the...

Hi All, Just got an Ecodrive BL5250 (my first Citizen), which I love so far, but it has a feature that annoys me. The power save function causes the second hand to stop at 12 when the battery is not charging and then speed to the correct second when exposed to light. I know why it does it, but is there any way to stop it. Seems like every time I look at it (especially in the evening or when ...
