There are some very cool and not very expensive "turn of this century" Shanghai B (8120) designs. I\'m planning on adding a couple to the AMCH just because I like the looks, and because I want to include those pieces as well as the 50s-' + '-80s watches. Also, I read some instructions regarding the GMT issue you note...I\'ll see if I can find it. It\'s not a flaw exactly, more just an inherent design...

I really like the stock bracelet on my Invicta 8926. I wish I could find an unbranded version of that.

It has a power reserve of just under 44 hours which is pretty good in my opinion. Have not yet tried the accuracy, but it will hopefully come soon.

Hello Shun & welcome to the forum. A lot of people here have purchased Tao watches and have been extremely happy with them. I believe Mr. Tao (I think that is his name) is very conscious of his customers and realizes that better CS/QC only helps him and his business in the long run. Please read this post on what I believe to be the different levels of Chinese watches. http://forums.watchuseek...

Was scrolling around on another watch forum, and saw a link for one of their sponsors, Techne Watches: http://www.technewatches.com/ They seem to be planning to offer a ST-1901 based handwind chrono that seems pretty attractive, at least looking at the website photos. Does anyone know anything about these watches, the maker, or how much they'll cost?

I just received a new Alpha Carbon last week. Up until this morning I can't say enough good about this watch. Great looks, perfect finish, very nice layout, great size, keeps time very well ( -3 sec in about 24hrs), nice price. All that being said I went to put the watch on this morning and while strapping it to my wrist I noticed a sound coming coming from the watch when I would move it. Now...

Arrived last week straight from the Sea-Gull Tianjin factory! Have been wearing it everyday since I received it and I must say that it is my favorite watch in the entire collection! The black and orange really makes it stand out, but yet no too much. The strap is good quality leather and is very smooth around the wrist, with a good deploy buckle. I have no idea about the movement, I am sure ...

Usually the transprent caseback is more expensive than the solid one, so nothing wrong if you have the transparent caseback installed, you could buy the solid caseback later.

I own two other Chinese watches with what I assume are Sea-Gull movements: Schaffer "Regulator" and Alpha "Jump Hour". I have now ordered and received a Sea-Gull directly from usseagull.com. It is the model M185SP-22. Sorry I don't have a photo to publish but you can see it at http://www.usseagull.com/classic.htm . A list of the translation of the Chinese characters for the Day is ...
