I have a the same trailer it would tale a lot of work to try to convert it. You would be better off to convert a different brand inboard trailer. Try Planet Nautique, Malibu Crew, MC Team and Ski it Again. I have seen them there from time to time.

I bought a poly tank which fits perfect, and will act as a ballast also. Now I am building the seat bottom which will sit on the tank. Then I will build the back and then get them all upholstered. I have time, notice the ice in the lake ...

Built a tank/seat for the back of mine. But like you said, it only holds around 7-800 lbs. You could use lead or something other than water. Other than that there's no real solution - you only have so much space, and water onlly weighs so much...
