I feed her Frommes (chicken and veg) Everything is dry so you'd think she would be dying for a drink more often.

Actually, Seamus has something similar to what you describe. The bridge of his nose gets a sort of "crust" on it, that can get quite thick if I don't keep it exfoliated. He's had it his entire life, and my vet had no idea what causes it. It doesn't matter what he eats (and in nine years, he's been lots of different things, including grain free), it never goes away. I can treat it by squeezing a capsule of...

Boo's bms were pretty solid as a puppy. It sounds like you've given the innova a fair shake. We never did "puppy" food for Boo. She ate Fromm brand salmon and duck and did great. You could try Orijen puppy, if you like having the word "puppy" in the name, but IMHO it isn't necessary.

So glad he's doing well! Isn't it amazing how quickly some of the worst allergy symptoms can clear up after a food switch? Abby was the same way - once we switched her to the food that works for her it was about a week until she wasn't scratching like crazy, didn't have crazy watery eyes and was just so much happier.

Colleen, I'm sorry to hear the boys are barf-y Maybe you can give them a home-made meal of something bland tomorrow? I'm not sure if they have allergies. Maybe boiled chicken & rice or oatmeal. Sometimes I scramble 2 eggs for B&E if I am low on food. They tolerate that well. I hope you can get your money back on the bag of food. If you are worried, it is worth it to get another bag - see if you can figure out what...

Chief is limping!
Published (2009-12-02 01:58:00)
Hi I'm just seeing this in the middle of the night. Did Chief continue to limp throughout the day? Were you able to call your veterinarian? Ice would not cause a long-lasting limp, I wouldn't think. Unless perhaps he slipped on a patch of it and twisted something. Hope he's better now ... ?

Chance had a nasty cyst/growth between his toes - it was very huge and not only was he bothering it but a couple of the other dogs wanted to help. We used a bootie - one of the snow boots for dogs to keep him and the others away for it. It seemed to work well and offer padding/protection.

Hi, unfortunately I haven't had experience with anything like you're describing that I can recall. It sounds like you are doing the right things with the food and water change. I am wondering, though, about the bowls you are using for food and water? Any chance you are using plastic? I've read to use ceramic or stainless steel because bacteria grow more easily on the plastic ones, and I have ...

First off, thanks so much for your service to our country. I hope that you are home safe soon. So, regarding your BT, that's a bit of a mystery for sure. My Potsie had an issue that started last December where he just stopped using one of his hind legs. It ended up being something called a nerve sheath tumor which has gotten progressively worse over the past 12 months or so. We are ...

I use a special cleaning tool called a Findley..it comes with a self timing tiny tongue that gets in the deep crevices. But usually I just use a wash cloth. I don't want to get in too deep unless its really needed..then I would use cotton swabs, never a q-tip.

A great website to have your questions answered: http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/C...utoimmuneCa re/ We used Lysodren since my vet had no experience with Trilostane. Chance had complications - and is now Addisonian. I understand that Trilostane has fewer side effects than Lysodren. Good Luck with Barney.

Bostons come in all different sizes. My Daisy is 13lbs and over 1 year old. There are other Bostons on here that are over 30lbs. I think the 'general' rule is that you double their weight at 4 months and you will have a good idea of what they will be like full grown.

Is she hydrated enough? Muscle cramps are not associated with Protein usually - they are associated with lack of hydration or overworking them. If she won't drink water, I would try giving her ice cubes. But, also getting her checked out at the vet for LP. Sometimes when the knee comes out of place, they will limp and it will pop back and they will be fine.
