Quote: Quote: I can't wait for DH to get home today! The doctors office just called to book his big appointment! He has to call them back. Yay! Finally, after a year of me asking when he was going to do it! I love that you can't wait for him to get home so you can tell him to call the Dr, lol. Meh, he didn't share my excitment. I called to tell him. His response, "I'll call tomorrow". Ah, tomorrow will turn into...

Yup American Thanksgiving here today. Many places close early on Wed and then don't reopen til Monday. This is a WAY bigger holiday re: work closings than Xmas here. Also, they are based in Connecticut, I think. Not too far from me. It's where they live anyway. A friend of a friend lives in the same town as Melissa & Doug and says they have 6 kids, each with his/her own nanny. And they have 3 SUVs and 2 kid/nanny pairings go...

We actually started using one maybe about a month ago? It was based on a thread on here actually and the recommendation of Ikea's small pillow. My kid actually sleeps on it!! It's pretty flat so there's no worry. Check one out if you can IB! I had it in the wash the other day so he napped without it which is good that he hasn't become terribly attached to it, but if it's there he'll use it.

My DS is just 3.5, but the Geotrax we have he doesn't use anymore, it's just too young for him. He did get an Imaginarium Train set last year (a la Thomas, but cheaper) and we are planning on FINALLY setting it up for him this year. I think if you have the room, a train table would be a great idea. We bought the kids a Toy Kitchen this year, which I know they will love and he's asking for. What about an easle with all the craft...

I can just answer the last question.. Quote: Is pre-school a necessity? No, it's not a necessity. It's great for some kids, but preschool is more about the social aspect and learning routines.. And if they are already in daycare, IMO, they are learning that anyways.. And if they aren't in daycare it won't hinder them in kindergarten at all.

I personally like option #2.. It's a direct consequence - fight at recess, lose recess.. And it's embarrassing as hell for a 7 yr old. If you guys could work that, then I think that would be the solution out of what is listed.. Option #1, he KNOWS that it's just for a few hours, and someitmes, a time out in their room is a lot more fun than hanging out with the family anyways (unless ...

I'm not sure if I have any advice except to practice. I was lucky that I didn't have any trouble with this part. I think it was partly due to how my brain works, but I'm sure that it was at least partly due to the fact that I did logic puzzles for fun as a kid and also took Logic in high school, so I was familiar with the forms of puzzles. If the puzzles on the practice tests are a ...

To answer your question....YES! A toddler/preschooler can cause you to do many things you swore you would never do as a parent. And yes, raising your voice to them is one of those things (well, I do...I'm not sure if everyone does!). I don't yell at him but raise my voice, for sure, pretty much daily.

I just have an old crib and I was debating whether to garbage it after kids or give it away. I guess it goes in the garbage. But really when the kids get bigger don't most people not use the drop down option. I know I didn't I went and bought a step stool to put my kids in the crib.
