The odometer gear breaks in all 850's, there is a well-documented fix here: http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/2005/01/01/interior-seats-dash-remotes-switches-odometer-fix-how-to/ There is a method to figure out the real miles on the car as well with an OBD scanner.

pop the hood and look on the passenger side of the hood for a 4"x4"ish white sticker with the complete diagram on it. It's easiest to take a picture and blow it up.

look around on this site there are people who can repair the ABS module. there is also a detailed writeup on how to do it yourself. As far as the strut, replace both sides at the same time if ones bad the other isnt far behind. that price seems right (as long as the parts are included) as for your doorlocks did you try changing the fobs battery?

New question. Many of you mentioned replacing the Tbelt in time to avoid engine destruction. Mine was replaced at about 87K. Any suggestions on when should I plan to replace it again to avoid trouble?

I bought new pads for the front at NAPA. Just recently I had to rotate my tires and check on the wear of both front and back. To my amazement the rear ones were worn out and the front ceramic pads were at 5mm thickness still. These ceramic pads are quiet and do not leave that dark brake dust on the rims which I hate. If it has A/T, this could be weak. Based on recent bad experience, I suggest that you have an indie volvo mechanic look at it and run an electronic diagnostic. Also don't buy this model w/ a heavy-class tow hitch. This type of car is not designed for this application.
