Malwarebytes.org CCleaner - Download Run these apps, when using CCleaner Back up your Registry when prompted . Run this online scan. Well you can close a few things in task manager that might help, but what I suggest you do for the moment is increase your page file usage. right click on my computer go to properties> advanced and then increase your page file. by rule of thumb it should be 1.5 times the size of your ram. so if you have 1GB of ram, then your page file should be 1.5GB or 1536MB Install startup inspector as well. When I logged in this morning, I noticed that the default skin is messed up. If I use any other skin, the issue goes away. This is not a big issue for me, because I like other skins better, but I want to find out what it is, and if it is a bug, to report it.

Have you tried to reinstall the program? This does sometimes happen after another program has been installed or by corruption. Try running chkdsk to see if there is any problems with your HD. Are any other programs failing?

Thanks for the reply, but it seems you didn't read my post, I can not get to the contrl panel, I can't get anything...at all. This is a barebones kit I got from TD last spring. Worked fine for ...oh 8 months or so. The only thing I haven't tried yet is removing the video card. I'll try that tomorrow morning, way too tired now. Thanks in advance for any help

basically I am wondering how I can boot to my acronis rescue cd, because I can't seem to get to my bios boot menu. If not this, then what other ideas do you have to get me back to the desktop so I can do a system restore? Thanks.

Hello mblack, In the screenshot you posted, the check boxes next to the items you want to clean are clear, can you confirm that these boxes were checked when you tried to clean up these files.

reflash the bios dude. go to the manufacturers website, dell, hp, acer, whichever vendor your laptop is, find the "bios" burn it to a cd and there should be a tutorial on their website somewhere, Im saying this because every PC is different and reflashing the bios is something that you dont want to get wrong. But if its under warranty, then send it in.. dont delay

I have the same problem and those are the files that are culprit and I have just recently updated all my drivers so maybe you should do that also lets see if that works.

Are you sure you aren't downloading anything, or on a malicious site? If not, run it without add-ons, they could be accessing your computer. If even that doesn't work, just get Mozilla Firefox, IT ROCKS!
