Strange this! I've just tried to run Google Earth again and the same thing has occurred. There are newly created KML files in the folder. Any idea what might be happening? I found the files in C:\Users\John\AppData\Roaming\Google\GoogleEarth. The access to folder C:\Documents and Settings is denied and under properties I have tried to gain access without success. No one else uses the computer.

Computer Shuts Down Randomly
Published (2009-12-06 02:26:00)
No security issues. Results can be found here: http://discussions.virtualdr.com/sho...45#post1307345 I will see if the issue continues to happen. It was happening at different rates during the process of checking the HJT logs. Since the last batch of shut downs, I have now been up and running just over 24 hours straight without issue. Hopefully it remains that way, but it has been random as to when it does shut down. I'll let you know if...

A better UAC for Vista / Windows 7
Published (2009-12-07 19:54:00)
You might want to try this tool from Norton http://www.symantec.com/norton...e&header=0&depthpath=0 http://www.symantec.com/norton...c&header=0&depthpath=0 that is a FREE Tool from Norton, which replaces the built in UAC' with a better one, which does have a White List Feature ... and there are no special tricks to let a program run. (posting in Vista & Windows 7 section so both OS users can find it)

Try running it in "no add ons" mode, to see if an add on is causing it. You'll find that in All Programs>Accessories>System Tools.

popman--I confuse easily. What version of Windows is your wife now using? I understand she is using Outlook Express as the email program. And you now want to install Vista on her PC and transfer the OE messages. Is that all correct? Is this an internal transfer on her PC or do you want to transfer her OE messages to your Vista PC? Since Win7 is now available, installing Vista seems ...
