C: is drive 1 (or 0) which has the OS and applications. That showed 11GB. D: is drive 2 (or 1) to which I was trying to 'image' drive one. After trying the initial image the second disk showed only 4GB. As I mentioned, I did not see an option to compress the file. However, after several attempts I decided to give up, but in the meantime when I right-clicked on 'My Computer' icon to check Disk Management the computer...

What are you referring to when you say C: is 11GB and D: is 4.5? Do you mean the size of the images? Try the Rescue disc and see if you get the same results.

Skype allows you to make phone calls via your internet service...It is generally less money then a regular land line...Is that what you are needing to know?

farley89hd--Read this http://iet.ucdavis.edu/pubs/skype.cfm and see what you think. Skype does not use your PC as a zombie to send out spam, but it may use your PC as part of the network to transmit someone else's call. I turn Skype off except when I make a call.

We don't usually recommend registry cleaners as they can do more damage than good.

Can we assume you are booting from the CD? If so, the option probably isn't obvious. On previus versions, when booting from the CD, at one point there will be a list of options on the left side of the window. You have to click on or select those to see the available choices. One of them controls the compression level. If you select Maximum Compression, you MAY be able to get your backup to fit in your available space.

I reverted back to Word/Office2003 because I was haveing stupid problems also opening older Word docs. Hated 2007. Microsoft might have a little patch to sort that out.

For basic file/folder name searches, as long as your disc is the NTFS file system, try Everything. It's simple but blazingly fast. http://www.voidtools.com/ If you want deep searches (for content), then free Copernic Home http://www.copernic.com/en/products/...rch/index.h tml It's a much bigger program but it does a great job.

Anything that needs that kind of pampered attention to install would never see the light of day on a PC of mine!!! As for why Roxio and Nero can't co-exist... My initial thoughts they could get along together. But since they don't, my guess is something related to packet writing. Roxio saw that Nero was already running IN-CD and could not also run Direct2Disc from Roxio. (Packet Writing is ...
