Work on a game somewhere else?

The only way to do this is to basically make sure you both exchange what's been done pretty often. I work together with my long-time friend/neighbor/partner on my current project. Basically, we both have a copy of the project. We then work on separate things, and essentially exchange them (via USB flash drive) by opening up the other's project and copy/pasting the maps/events/etc. It's a bit of work, but that's the only way...

Encounter-rate question
Published (2009-12-04 09:10:00)
Can you have different sections of a map have different encounter rates with enemies ? That is, say you are approaching a lava section of a map and there's just more enemies in that area, near the lava, than there are farther away, and you don't want to use different maps to do that. p.s. Yes I know I said I was quitting working on an RPG Maker project, but I changed my mind :o)

Work on a game somewhere else?

Hi, I was over at my friend's place and he showed me rpg maker vx. We created a new game and worked on it a little bit. I live pretty far away from him and was wondering that if I got my own copy of vx, would we be able to both work on the same project, where any change I make he can see and vice-versa? I know this sounds a little impossible, but if there is a way we can set this up I'd really be interested in knowing how.

I thought I had no more questions, but i have one more. I have a Victory Fanfare downloaded, but it's about two minutes long. After a battle, the game just keeps playing the fanfare instead of cutting to the real background music once you're in the field. Is there a way to make the fanfare stop after you exit out of the battle screen? (I was unable to download that thing that was suppose to help, so that's why I'm asking it...

This is a feature that was stupidly cut out for some reason (past versions of the maker had it). There is a remedy via script, however: http://pockethouse.wordpress.com/vx/custom-item-ab ilities/ Just read up on how to use the script.

http://www.rpgmakervx.net/index.php?showtopic=2470 If you scroll down a bit, there's a whole section on graphic work. That's probably the best source on the internet for you. For the timer, you don't need a script. On the first page of Event Commands, there is a "Control Timer..." function. That one is self explanatory. However, to get something to happen at the end (or in any other period in ...

http://pockethouse.wordpress.com/vx/variable-encou nters/ That script is probably the easiest way to deal with it, and it'd require using the script to set your encounter rates instead of the built-in rate system. You'd have to create events that set the encounter rate to a higher one around those areas, and then more events that set it back to normal when you move away from them (like, several ...

There's actually a script that allows you to give skills a charge- up time so that, once the actor uses the skill, they can't do anything for X number of turns, and then they perform the skill. The only thing that wouldn't be emulated by the real jump is the actor dodging everything/not being able to be targeted. But yeah, the script I used for it is here: http://pockethouse.wordpress.com/vx/...
