Upgrading Graphics Card...No...

I never felt the need to use a static protector. All I do is occasionally touch the case frame. I also kinda think that the cord for those things gets in the way. I've had my computer for about 5 years now and haven't shocked my mobo to death so it seems to work just fine. then again, I don't have carpet in my room here anymore so that might help a little.

Firefox does that over time, it's a flaw that Mozilla has failed to address for years. If you're running XP/Vista (doesn't work in 7), go to about:config, and add a new boolean called "config.trim_on_minimize" and set it to true. Restart Firefox, and now you should have the ability to slice down the RAM usage every time you minimize firefox.

Yeah, I missed that it's a laptop somehow. You can get a USB adapter for like $20, but I'm not sure he's willing to go that route, since it's a longshot that it's not his drive anyway.

You can use a USB drive via UNetBootIn if you have one of those more than handy with a capacity of at least 700MB.

Sorry, TC, but the 4650 is a budget or "low-end" card nowadays. I'd be surprised if you could even do all medium settings on games like Crysis. I'm not sure why you can't play Witcher anymore, but my guess is that your game was updated and now requires a better card. Did you try re-installing the game?

Internet connection issue.

Do you have other PC's that run off this internet also? Do they work fine? As for limited no connectivity, how far away are you from your router/modem when you try the wireless?

You won't be able to run games, and a lot of programs will not work in Ubuntu. While it's very in style to switch over, Linux isn't practical.

One for data transfer and one for power. It might work with only one but you really should plug both.

Can't you just delete 8GB worth of stuff? Is there a need to reformat over just deleting?

You probably have a basic version instead of a premium version of 7. Either that or there is a problem with your theme.

....I recommend getting all the service packs up to service pack 3. You're seriously behind in updates (like, 6 years behind)

Is there a boot device preference in the BIOS? If so set it to boot from the Harddrive first.
