Why do we have SATA power?
Published (2009-11-24 17:38:00)
Ok, new question. Why do we still have 4-pin molex? If SATA is clearly better, why not redesign *everything* to use SATA power, get rid of 4-pin molex connectors on PSUs, and make adapters so that new PSUs can work with legacy hardware?

From: The cranky hermit | Posted: 11/24/2009 7:38:18 PM | #012 make adapters so that new PSUs can work with legacy hardware? There are actually already adapters the go from SATA>4-pin molex to support older devices/hardware: http://www.eworldsale.com/images/products/computer/cables/AA73918a.jpg I suppose you could say the reason they don't convert everything to SATA power and make people use adapters for the OLD hardware, is the...

Which mobo for an i5 build?

I'm thinking of either an MSI P55-GD65, or a Gigabyte P55-UD4 for an i5 build. Is it true that the MSI actually supports crossfire with 16 lanes? I'm thinking to go with the...

From: Too Fast 2 Furious | #009 This so much D: True, although some PSU's have fixed that somewhat by adding the squeeze bit to help push the connector out of the socket so you don't have to apply so much force yourself. SATA is still far superior tho.

lol I know, it's odd. The 360 only upscales to 1080p, it doesn't display that resolution natively.

Well, FL Studio is the beast of the PC world and it's what most Prof. Dance Trance Eurotech Dj's use. However, unlike garage band, this is real music production software - you won't be rearranging pre made loops. You'll be making everything from scratch.

BR at the moment would hurt PC. Pirates would continue to download cracked copies, as they do now. Legit customers without expensive BR drives would be unable to play new games, and therefore would not buy them.

It looks very networking-biased to me. That's fine if that is what you want to do, but if not, you might want to go for something else.

It depends on your tastes, for example, I tend to only play FPS games on my PC and the odd casual game and RPG while others prefer strategy games like Age of Empires (which I dont like). In the FPS genre: The orange box HL for a starter.

For PS3, yeah. For the other consoles, they'll need a Bluray add on, as they currently don't support it.
